We know what caused the fever!

Grier continues to have fevers...some as high as 103 but we now know why so we are feeling better about this stay at CMC. It seems to be staph that is causing his fever-- it grew out very quickly and the antibiotics that were started yesterday should clear the infection up. His chest x-ray came back with a fuzzy area so he will need to take another x-ray tomorrow to determine exactly what that is. Clinically he is doing fine. The plan so far is to wait it out a few days and let the antibiotics work and then retest him to make sure the infection is gone- The good thing is that this happened here on this weekend and not next weekend- :) And that he is not neutropenic ( no immune system) -- Hopefully we will be home soon--

Hey Christenbury family,
So sorry to hear that Grier is battling an infection. At least you know what the enemy is and how to combat it. Hope that Grace and Hayes are enjoying these first few days of summer. Please let me know if there is something that I can do for them ... go to games, movie, etc. I would love to do that if you need me.
Go, Grier, go!!!
In my prayers daily!!
With love,
Mrs. D.

So glad to hear the drs. have found the cause of the fever...it's always good to have a "fix!" Hope the antibiotic kicks in soon! We're thinking of Grier and hoping you all head home soon!

Hope your summer is off to a decent start and look forward to hearing about your beach trip and seeing some photos posted!

As always, let us know if you need anything. I am between CCDS and Chlt Jr Gym twice daily this week and am happy to run any errands!
