We have had an eventful day!! But what fun would a 4th Birthday be without things to do and places to go--- especially NYC!! AHHH!
Grier enjoyed a brief birthday celebration-- he opened a few gifts.. had the first cake of many-- and enjoyed being sung to by Hannah Blanton and friends at church--Mrs. leary... and Anne and Mac-- Grace said that he got more phone calls than me today!! He likes to talk on the phone!!
We left Charlotte around 5:45--- we were going to land at 8 at West Chester-- but we had some weather delays-- and did not make it to West Chester after all--- ended up in Teterboro-- and had to reroute our van that was picking us up to take us to the RMDH--- We finally made it at 10:30!! We left the RMDH and went to get a slice of Pizza-- go to the grocery store to get a some water and our Gristedes was closed!!! I still can not believe Grier and I were out walking first Ave at 10:45!!! Crazy!! It is now-- 11:45 and Grier is still up!!! What a crazy day---
I can cross this day off the countdown--- Grier and I made it to NY and are in our room and ready for bed! Yes-- It is almost midnight!!-- I will update tomorrow-- it will be late -- I am sure!

I am happy to hear of your safe arrival. I thought of you all night. How great that Grier was able to start his birthday celebration. I am sure it will continue for a while. I will have you in my thoughts and prayers today. I know it will be a long day for you. Good luck and know we are very much with you.
Lots of Love,
Mary Ellen
Glad to know you are safe and hopefully getting some sleep this morning!
Moussa is looking over my shoulder and yelling, "go Grier go" - he's loud ... can you hear him? LOL
Our love and prayers are with you, as always. Hope you have a good week.
Love, Nibal
Hi Amy
My name is Adrienne and I'm a lurker. I've been following your blog since late January when I learned of gogriergo.com from a post that was published on my friend’s son's page... "John, Cheryl, Madeline, JP & Elizabeth
It is great to hear that Chase is doing so well. He, as well as the rest of the family, will continue to be in our daily prayers.
I just found out that my cousin’s grandson also has Stage IV NB. His story is so much like Chase’s. Grier is just a step ahead of Chase. They just started 3f8 on 1/14/08 in NYC. His site is http://www.gogriergo.com."
Let me start by wishing Grier a Happy 4th Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day...it sounded busy, but good. Chase has just gone through transplant and will be traveling back and forth to NYC from South Carolina for 3f8 treatments. The reason I piped up today is because you commented on the HEAT in the city. I am training and raising money to run with Fred's Team in the NYC Half-Marathon in late July. I'm stoked about the event and the fundraising. I'm almost to my goal...$3,000. I live in CT, just 2 1/2 hours from the city and today during my morning run was not feeling so good about the heat. When I read your post about the buildings and concrete holding the heat I thought, NOOOOOO...it can't be. I am truly inspired by both of these young men and feel honored to be doing this for all families who are battling childhood cancer. Here is the link to my Fred's Team page (https://fredsteam.mskcc.org/fundraising/Controller?action=userHome&user_id=38558&event_id=117). This will give you the opportunity to "meet" Chase. Who knows, maybe the boys will be in NY together one day soon.
Happy Belated Birthday Grier! I am sorry we missed this weekend -- I was out of town for work, but have a little something for you when you get back in town. Glad you made it safely to NYC. We are thinking about you and you remain in our thoughts and prayers. If there is anything we can do, just let us know. Lots of hugs from our house to yours. Stay cool and know we are praying for you today and always.
Love -
Sally, Pete and Molly
Holy Cow! I can not believe you're both awake at 11:45pm...no way!
Glad you're safe & sound. Sounds as if Grier had nothing less than an eventful birthday...one he, and you, won't soon forget.
Look forward to hearing more about your week. I will have to wait to update until Saturday as Abby & I are headed to the Outer Banks for the 4th grade Oceanography Club trip tomorrow 6am until Friday 11pm...riding on a tour bus there and back...sounds exhausting, doesn't it? Though nothing near as much so as your day, and many you've had for that matter.
You all keep on "keepin' on!" Know you are loved and thought of all the way to the Outer Banks and back!!!
Love,
Dina
