I just wanted to do a brief update about today's events-- it will be brief.... because I can barely see the screen and I can't type without hunting for each letter! We got to the hospital at 6am--- we left the Ronald at 5:45am and walk in the dark the 5 blocks -- it was dark outside and pretty quiet on the street-- We waited-- imagine that??? And finally started the pre-op process--- We had to talk Grier into putting on the gowns but he eventually complied if he could play with Dad's phone-- ragdoll blaster has been quite a bargaining chip lately! He did great as expected-- Dr. L came in to ask if we any other questions and he had to sign Grier's side where he was going to make the incision for the thoracotomy

Glad to hear he is awake and talking. Thought of you and prayed all day. Cannot imagine what you all have been thru-I just kept checking the blog.
Lots of prayers and hope are being sent to you. First thing this morning Mrs. Leary said Grier's surgery is today. I woke up at 5 and started my prayers.
Love to sweet Grier and all of you. Hope you get a little rest.
Lots of Love,
Mary Ellen
Glad to have your update and glad Grier is up and talking. We continue to send you guys love and prayers. And hope you are home soon.
Love to you and all !
Netha and all
You are a trooper just like Grier to keep us updated even when you are dead tired! Thank you, thank you! Maybe you and Jeff can get a good night's sleep knowing that Grier is safe and well-taken care of at MSKCC. Hope the "thing" that the doc got was just that -- a big fat NOTHING!
Thought about you/Grier/Jeff today at school and after school while I walked. Your friends are so faithful to your family -- just a BIG family to pray for you and send hugs and much love to you.
Sleep tight!

Prayers and more prayers... for sweet brave Grier, his parents and family.
Hugs and kisses from the Edwards Family
We have talked about, and thought about, and prayed for Grier all day at the WDS. And I bet so many people have checked the blog all day waiting for an update. You are such an inspiration to be able to put so much in writing and stay connected to everyone, even as exhausted as you must be. What an amazing little guy Grier is, and we pray that God is holding all of you in His hands during this time.
Love,
Janis and all the WDS Teachers
Thank you for the update Amy!
I'm so glad he's doing so well after Surgery! I'm sure Grier is going to make a quick recovery.
You all are in my prayers!
Love and God Bless,
Julie
So many speed bumps on this journey. My heart goes out to all of you. But most of all I want to jump into the computer and wrap my arms around the most adorable patient ever! Love love love the naked comment.
Surely they will send you home to mend soon? The wait on the pathology report is rotten but I so hope they have some understanding of it all to share with you pronto.
Amazing how these little bodies heal. Grier is crazy strong.
xxoo.
Ashley.
Thinking about you all with prayers and e-hugs.

Amy - sending you vibes for strength and patience. Put some clothes on that boy and bring him home when you can.
