We had an appt. today and his counts are slowly coming back--- the good news is that he did not need any blood products.

We have decided that we want to go to Sloan Kettering in NYC. There is a surgeon there that has lots of experience with Neuroblastoma and is well known in his field-- He is very meticulous and that is what Grier needs! So, now we wait to hear when we can go-- hopefully soon ( within the week) and get this next step behind us and get back to CLT as soon as possible to get back to our "new normal"-

As soon as we know when we can go we can make plans to get there and hopefully get a reservation at the Ronald McDonald house-- So, a little more waiting is in store this week-- I hope to update with details very soon-

Hi Amy,
Glad to hear you are going to N.Y. It is a great hospital. I have family in the city ,please let me know if you need anything. I know they would be happy to help any way they can. Keep me posted and I will be in touch with you.
Now we just need to pray a little harder,if that is possible.
As always you are in our hearts and our prayers.

Hello Christenbury Family!

Looks like Mary Ellen beat me to the punch again!

I am so glad to hear that you have finalized your plan on where you're headed. We're praying that your rsvn at RMcD house moves on quickly so you can begin this next excursion and as you said "put it behind you." I know you are ready to "move on," get there and get back!

Everyone here in Charlotte will be praying up a storm from now until the end of a successful surgery that Grier will be as comfortable as possible and that everything will proceed without incident, both here and there!

Please call if you need any help with ANYTHING! I am great at carpooling and directions and would be happy to help in any way. If you need someone to set up dinners/gift cards while you're away, I'll be happy to. Please call on your friends...we are all happy to help out in the largest or smallest way!

Lots of Love and Tons of Prayers...
Dina

Amy,
I am also glad to hear Sloan Kettering will be able to care for Grier. They are the best. A friend of our family is on the board of the Ronald McDonald House (I used to babysit their kids!)...if you know the date of arrival or they need a "nudge" to make things happen, let me know and we'll do what we can (madtom@bellsouth.net or at First Pres) Please don't hesitate,

Sounds like a good decision from what everyone has already written about Sloan Kettering -- we want only the best for Grier and your family! Hope things will move along quickly now that you have made the decision on location and doc. The sooner you go, the sooner you can get back home! Know that Grace and Hayes will be loved and taken care of while you're gone -- let me know if I can do anything. I'll be glad to check on them at ETES during the day!

Love and prayers, as always,

Dear Amy and Jeff,

Great news on your decision! Sloan-Kettering is a fantastic facility and we will keep our fingers crossed that they will be able to schedule Grier for surgery in short order. Like everyone else, we are ready and willing to help right here at home or any way we can in NYC. We, too, have family and very good friends in the city that would be delighted to do anything for you and your family. We love you guys and missed you at Covenant Connection tonight. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!

Love,

Nancy, Ralph and the girls

Hey there Amy,
I was at Covenant Connection tonight at the church and upon leaving thought, "It just wasn't the same without the Christenbury family here." We miss you all and are praying for your family and especially for your upcoming trip to NY.

I pray that God will guide the hands of Grier's surgeon and that healing will take place. I pray that your family will continue to find strength, courage and peace. I so trust in our Father and I know that He hears my words for your precious son.

I pray and I pray and I pray.

GO GRIER GO!!!
Love
Anne

Amy & Jeff,
We are glad that you have found the perfect place to help Grier. I am so glad you found a surgeon that specializes in neuroblastoma. I hope you can go soon, so you can be back home as quickly as possible. We know this will be hard on all of you.

Know that we think of you all every day. Every store we go in, Nolan picks up something he wants to buy Grier. Grier's whole room would be filled up by now :). But, Nolan does have a card and a little something for him, if you post an address in NYC that we can mail it to. Please let us know if there is anything at all we can do. We will continue to pray for you all every day- and especially for Grier and that all the hands that touch him will be God's healing hands.

GO GRIER GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lots of Love,
Jennifer & Jeff Hatley
