Changing of the guard!

Grier is still inpatient @ LCH-- he likes the movies that are pre-programmed on the TV-- he can work the whole thing with little help :) He will stay until his counts go up-- he did spike a fever last night but it did not last long-- This is like the last time we were there-- one fever a day same time of day too!

We bought our tree yesterday-- and thank goodness for our mailman, Chris!! He helped me get it off the car-- Today, Hayes and I got things out of the attic and put the lights on! Then Grace joined in the help decorate-- And after I thought the whole tree was done... it FELL!!! There is a little more to that story but I will not post it! So, we cleaned up a MESS of broken glass ornaments, glitter from the snow globe ornaments and rearranged the lights AGAIN-- It is up again-- actually tied up! I hoped to address cards today or at least take them with me to the hospital but they did not come in the mail yet!! I hope they come before we leave town-- I will post the card on the blog-- so at least you will get it in time!

Tomorrow... we will see where his counts are and hopefully have some idea with timing-- So, I will update tomorrow with good details !!! I am headed up soon to switch for the night-- I heard the futon is great!

I know you are excited about the futon. Sorry about the tree. When Elizabeth was a year old we put up the tree and as we finished she pulled it right down. For many years after that we tied our tree to the wall. She's 21 now and we finally stopped.
I hope you get some rest tonight. We will be praying for good news and details about your trip.
As always you are in our thoughts and prayers,

Sorry about the tree. Were you able to laugh? Happened at our house one year as well. Praying for the count to go up. Take care. Victoria

I think everyone has had a tree fall and then tied it for many years after -- we did!! Glad it is up again and hope none of the really special ornaments broke --but then the ones the kids made are all paper, pinecones, glitter, nuts, etc. and they don't break -- they are the treasured ones!!

Glad to hear the futon was comfy for Jeff and will be for you tonight. I'm glad that Grier is not uncomfortable during this stay and is enjoying all the DVDs. Annoying fever -- wish it would go away so you can get on with the plan!

Will be looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow. Is your Christmas card the one with 3 pics? You posted it on one of the blogs -- maybe Caring Bridge? It's great -- such cute pictures, such cute kids!!

Love and prayers to you tonight -- sleep well on the comfy futon!

So sorry about your tree. I'm hopeful that you were able to get a bit of a laugh from it after you finished cursing at the mess and everyone around you. The beautiful thing is everyone has a tree falling over story...you're in good company on that one!

Hoping you get a good night of rest on the futon...let it be as comfortable as the chair at MSK.

Looking forward to hearing news of your upcoming trip. Hopeful Grier's fever will subside tomorrow.

I have decent handwriting and would be more than happy to address your cards for you if you run short on time...REALLY!! I'm doing mine tonight; however, yours would move straight to the front of the line :)

Please call if you need/want anything! Sleep well dear friend...

Love,
Dina

Sorry to hear about the tree! This won't surprise you, but two years ago, a couple of hours after putting up our tree and a beautiful new glass star on top, we heard a horrible crash and glass breaking everywhere. When we ran to the living room, the tree was lying on the floor and one of my boys was still standing on the ladder with a hammer in his hand, saying "I didn't DO anything!" No names from me Amy, but you, Jeff, and Hayes can probably guess better than just about anybody who was standing on that ladder!!!
Hope Grier sleeps well tonight and has a good day tomorrow. Let us know if we can help with anything.

Thinking about you all this morning - hoping that Grier is fever free.

Your tree story just reminded me why we're doing a short tree on a table this year. Leila just started crawling and pulling up and it's crazy enough around here!

If you need help with the cards - just let me know. We have lots of free time ahead and would love to help.

Love to you all :)
