We had a busy weekend full of birthday well wishes and activities!!! Thanks to everyone for making his third birthday so special. His cake was a fly boat from the Wonder Pets!! My mom made it and everyone ate it except Grier-- he has not had an appetite for about a week- Oh well-- we will make some wonder pet cupcakes when he feels likes eating and celebrate again!
Grier will go to the clinic tomorrow for platelets- Hopefully he will not get a fever-- We need to come home to celebrate Hayes' 10th birthday, attend a swim meet, and a baseball game!!
Summer vacation has started for us-- It takes us awhile to make the transition!! Grace is doing a camp this week and Hayes is relaxing!! And I am just trying to keep the peace at our house during the day!!
We will start the next round of chemo soon-- hopefully the timing will work so we can spend a whole week at the beach-
Grier Martin Christenbury(age 2 1/2) was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma on Tuesday, March 27, 2007- This blog is to help family and friends know how he is doing with treatments. Go Grier Go! www.caringbridge.org/visit/grierchristenbury

Happy First Day of Summer Vacation! How long is the statute of limitations in wishing that school was out? Is it too late to take it back? Our summer vacation started off with, well, let's just say, a "period of adjustment," but I feel certain tomorrow we will all feel more grateful for sleeping late and no homework...I know I'm happy not to be slapping together sandwiches at 6:00 a.m.! Enough about us...
It was great to hear about Grier's busy weekend of birthday celebration...now on to Hayes' 10th! I feel so out of touch and miss seeing you guys! I hope the visit to the clinic tomorrow will be quick, painless and remain fever-free. Do you have your sights set on the beach or what? We are praying, praying, praying that the WHOLE family can get to the beach for the WHOLE week :) - you ALL deserve it so, so much!
Good luck with swim meets, baseball games, tenth birthdays, clinic visits and keeping the peace! We love you all and lift you up and hope to see you very soon.
Nancy
Amy,
Well, I'd like to say that our summer has just started; however, we are in full swing, threats-a-plenty for poor behavior! Everyone is good here and making the adjustment rather well. Mitch is fully potty trained...amazingly enough, the day after his surgery he decided he would begin. He's been great in the ten days since then!
Beth and I took Abby & Morgan off to Camp Seafarer on Saturday & Sunday...Abby's 2nd and Morgan's 1st time. Abby was delighted to go! I enjoyed this year being able to drop Abby off without my 14-yr old nephew, Adam and my "Leech on the hip!"...who's now walking/running everywhere, but last year was terrible...hot and "clingy." Abby and I had a blast, laughing and joking all the while. Now I'm back with "the boys" and enoying a bit of man-to-man defense with Paul rather than playing "zone." However, we dropped off our easiest of all three...have to question that logic!
Anyway, glad to hear Grier's birthday was a success. He's perfected the finger "3" quite nicely...Mitch's is a mess with his finger restrictions! Hopefully clinic will go without incident tomorrow and you all will be able to enjoy your start to summer and get ready for the beach. We will be praying for you all for very quick visits to CMC, quick not-so-hot baseball games, "lightening" quick swim meets, and NO FEVERS!
Happy 3rd to Grier and Happy 10th to Hayes!! Take peace in knowing that you are loved, prayed for and thought of a ton!
Love and Prayers...
Dina
Amy,
I have been out of town, so I am just reading all the updates. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRIER!!!! I am so thankful that you guys were able to celebrate at home and have such a special day together. I love that Wonder Pets cake! Grier looks great- it is so good to see him smiling and having fun in those photos. Happy Birthday to Hayes as well- hope you all are able to celebrate his day together as well. Hope you have a good day at the clinic tomorrow. Give Grier a hug from us! Nolan (4) says in his prayers at night " God Bless Grier, and give him lots of good food to eat- like chocolate to make him strong and make him feel better". Wishing you all good days and a much needed trip to the beach! Thinking of you every day- Jennifer Hatley
Amy,
Happy 3rd birthday to Grier!!! Cute picture of Grier and the Wonder Pets cake. What a great Mom you have. Even if he didn't eat it, I'm sure Grier got a huge kick out of the cake. I was also glad to see the picture of Grier at the Children's Ministry Celebration -- Pat told us how much he was hoping to go to "his party". I too hope your entire family gets to go to the beach for a well deserved vacation, and I hope all went well at the clinic today. You, Grier, and your family remain in our thoughts and prayers.

So happy to see that sweet little face smiling on his third Birthday.
Glad to hear you all had fun.
Will pray for no fever and happy days ahead. Remember we are here with many babysitters if you need a rest.
As always you are all in our hearts.

Dear Amy-
The folks at Little Airplane loved the photo of Grier w/ his Wonder Pets cake. Grier has quite a fan club in those folks. They were very impressed w/ your mom's baking talents.
I really hope that you guys are all able to get to the beach. And when you do, I hope that you will be able to block off some time just for yourself-- to soak up the sun, walk on the beach, collapse on the beach, etc-- all alone, you and the sand - just some moments of quietude where the sun and momentary solitude can absorb the impact of these past months. The beach is a wonderful place for revitalization, and you and your sweet family deserve any such R&R. Love, Alex
Happy late birthday Grier. You know, you and Helen share the same birthday. My birthday and your brothers is also in June. Needless to say, Gemini's rock. I hope the Dr.'s visit goes well... you are always in our thoughts and prayers Christenbury Family! Love, the Steffens
