We know what caused the fever!
Grier continues to have fevers...some as high as 103 but we now know why so we are feeling better about this stay at CMC. It seems to be staph that is causing his fever-- it grew out very quickly and the antibiotics that were started yesterday should clear the infection up. His chest x-ray came back with a fuzzy area so he will need to take another x-ray tomorrow to determine exactly what that is. Clinically he is doing fine. The plan so far is to wait it out a few days and let the antibiotics work and then retest him to make sure the infection is gone- The good thing is that this happened here on this weekend and not next weekend- :) And that he is not neutropenic ( no immune system) -- Hopefully we will be home soon--

I know you are all relieved to know the cause! I was glad to hear Grier had fun 3rd birthday! He was on my mind my entire beach trip. I'll drop by soon...hugs, hugs, hugs.
Hey Amy...now I know why I didn't hear back from you...hope you got a good nap :). Thinking of you and both boys in their birthday month! I hope the CXR turns out to be OK...I'm emailing you next.

Hey Christenbury family,
So sorry to hear that Grier is battling an infection. At least you know what the enemy is and how to combat it. Hope that Grace and Hayes are enjoying these first few days of summer. Please let me know if there is something that I can do for them ... go to games, movie, etc. I would love to do that if you need me.
Go, Grier, go!!!
In my prayers daily!!
With love,
Mrs. D.
Glad to hear you know the cause. Sweet Grier has had a rough time. We continue to pray and think of you everyday.
