Thursday-- ups and downs

Today started really well. Grier was very talkative and playing with lots of different toys. His favorite was a remote control Lightning McQueen—he made it run on his hospital bed. That toy brought a lot a joy to him today. He talked on the phone to Jeff while he was at work and he talked to Anne in Atlanta! He told Anne he was in the hospital—like she did not know since she was here for 7 days!! Both could not believe the change in his behavior- He had some visitors today and they got to see the “real Grier” – everyone in the room was smiling.

We sent G-Dad (Jeff’s Dad) on a lot of trips down stairs because Grier would ask for something to eat and then change his mind when he saw it-- He did not feel like eating at all today—This afternoon he spent most of it sleeping and if he was not sleeping he was blocking his mouth with his silkie so I did not give him some medicine-- Needless to say he was/is not in the same mood as he was earlier today.

The doctor came in and said all of his counts look good- He asked if he had gotten sick yet and I said “No” and he asked a few other questions—and with each answer Dr. L always looks up as if he is thanking God--- I think our Dr. knows he can not do this alone-

Friday we will end the last of the 72 hour chemo and then we will see if we can get some PT for Grier. Hopefully next week we will go home--

I have heard over and over from folks about the wonderful support we are getting from Covenant, Grier’s preschool, family and friends—Thanks to everyone here in Charlotte and away !! We could not do this without that support-

ps I am going to try to post a picture I got from a friend .. It is of her twin boys wearing shirts that say GO Grier GO!!

Amy, Jeff and family,

We are praying for all of you for strength as you go thru chemotherapy with Grier. We check the website daily and have you all constantly in our thoughts and prayers. I used to tell a friend who was going thru chemo that when she felt badly that meant the chemo was doing its job. We were excited to read that you all might get to go home next week. I think everyone especially Grier will be happy to be at home! It will nice for you all to be home!

Amy and Jeff, I talked with Anne this morning and got an update on the treatment plan for Grier. I have been thinking about you all since Will told me about Grier's illness last week. We are praying for you all and know that you will have the strength you need to keep his spirits up and yours as well.

To the Christenbury Family:

I received info of Grier's battle via an email prayer chain. I do not know you nor do you know Me, but that will not shy me away from praying for a miracle for your son & your family. I will pray for all the medical staff caring for Grier to uptain gentle hands & loving hearts. I pray for your family for strength & stamina to keep your spirits up. God Bless You All.

Amy and Jeff,
Kristie emailed me and we spoke on the phone earlier this week. I have been reading the blog site so I can keep up with how Grier and all of you are doing. I just wanted to you to know that I have all my friends and family here in Marion lifting up prayers for you. I think Kristie and Crystal and I are coming next weekend. I love you guys. Hang in there. I'm praying every night for God to give you all the grace and strength you need to get through each day. God Bless You all.
Love, Debbie
