5 down 9 more to go!!!

Today was the same as yesterday-- all went well!!! Except the weather-- It has been raining here and very windy!!! I heard that was the case in CLT too!!! Rain is fine unless you have to walk 6 blocks each way to the hospital!!!

Thanks for all the messages -- it gives me something to read while I am here!! Also-- Thanks to my Louisana family--- for the KING CAKE-- I had no idea what that was until I read the piece of paper--- Grier said it tasted like a cinnamin roll!! It was yummy and we plan to share some with our LA friends across the hall! I have a picture of him wearing his mardi gras beads- I will post that later--

I am glad we have two days off from the hospital routine--- and the weather is going to improve so we can get out and walk around !!

Go NY Giants--- I guess we are fans now-- !!!!!! When in Rome do as the Romans... right??

Absolutely, when in Rome! You're in the heart of it and I'm sure the excitement is building.

So glad today went well also! Glad for you as well that you have 2 days off, as you say...how great that the weather should change a bit for you. It was yucky here today...wet and chilly. The sun did peak out this afternoon, however.

I did have the afternoon of afternoons. You'll appreciate this. Paul and I met with Admissions for Mitch for CCDS to discuss his "performance," or lack thereof, for JK in the Fall. We got home about 12:40pm. I put a load of wash in and as I was walking out of the door to get Mitch, the phone rings and I wait to hear that the greeting says "Charlotte Country." Of course, I pick up instead of avoiding. The nurse says Abby has collided with a boy in P.E. and chipped a permanent bottom tooth. I proceed to call Paul VERY QUICKLY to go pick up Mitch...which he has never done and has "no sign." I give particulars and tell him to step on it. I call Dr. Brittain and he says he'll meet us at his office...his day OFF! I call the nurse back and tell her to expect me in 15 minutes. I call Mary Ellen on her cell and tell her to expect Paul in line with possibly no sign and no car seat. As I proceed down the stairs at CCDS to the nurses office, Adam's teacher is bringing him down the adjacent steps shivering with a fever...101.2 and rising. So, thankful that this happened in a timely fashion, I bring both to Dr. Brittain's where Paul meets me in the parking lot with Mitch. We all go into the dentist while Abby gets her tooth buffed to take the sharp edge off. She should be fine! She wants to go back to school as she has play practice...her class play is next Thursday and Friday and she has a pretty big part. Also, she has swim team after school...to which I find out later that I put Abby's suit in Adam's bag and Adam's suit in Abby's bag...NOT GOOD! She never swam because of my mix-up. I then stopped by Bojangle's as Mitch and Adam are both hungry and requesting biscuits...this shall be called my brunch at 2:30pm. Sounds like breakfast for you and Grier! I then take Mitch to a friends house so he does not have to go to the doctor with Adam and me. Adam's fever began to spike pretty good at the doctor after having given him Motrin 3 hours earlier. So, we're now rotating with Tylenol. We got home at 5:30pm. Having ordered a pizza to have IN tonight, I'm cutting up in the kitchen and hear Adam yell. I find him throwing up in the hallway...heard it first. He gets sick on the living room, on the entry floor and into the dining room...great! Sweet thing sits there while I begin to clean and says, "Mommy, I am so sorry I made this mess!" To which I say, "It's not your fault, baby!" I then miss dinner, or was that lunch?, and spend an hour cleaning up. Now I will sleep with Adam and wake to give him medicine throughout the night so we don't fall into the "fever trap."

An interesting day, 3 trips to CCDS, not even having driven morning or afternoon carpool, and the dentist and pediatrician. I also made stops at Target for drugs for myself and RiteAid for drugs for myself. Go Mom!

Hope this entertained you a bit! I am tired and heading off to give Motrin to Adam and get some rest. Still with all of this, I am thinking of you and how many crazy days like this you have had...even crazier!

Sleep well and enjoy your Mom's arrival this weekend!

Tons of love...
Dina

I am happy to hear the day went well. I know it must be hard to walk all that way in the rain and cold. Hopefully you will see some sun today.
We are big Giant's fans. That is what happens when you are a northener. Go Grier Go- Go Giants Go. Hope you have some fun. Just sit back and enjoy.
Heard Maggie is going to be with you. I am glad to hear that. My sister in law went to her office yesterday. I think they talked about the desk fire. Do you remember that? What an experience those years were.
Well we will hold you close in our hearts today and pray for easy days ahead.
Hope you get warmer and enjoy the game.
Lots of love,
The Paine's

Anne called me from the Rec. Wing the other day and said, "GUESS who I just saw?" "Who?" "GRIER!" She was so thrilled and said he looked marvelous. What a trooper he is and what an amazing family he has been blessed with. You are all my heroes. You cannot imagine how much I admire you.
Go Grier Go. And... Go Giants! If Grier wants you to win, then I want you to win, so there!
