We had visits from the doctor on call today-- first telling me that his white line also grew out the same germ as the red-- not a huge surprise- and they were going to back off all antibiotics except for Vanc-- Then they came back as a team and said the lab thinks it was a contaminant--- heard that before here at CMC-- but I tend to disagree since he clinically was SICK-- something made him spike the fever- So, the plan is to keep him on the 1 IV antibiotic and hopefully go home tomorrow and I will administer the medicine--- You know I have my nursing degree now!!! :)
And the question I ask every time they come in is -- any word about Sloan and surgery??-- I am told they are having a hard time getting in touch with the
surgeon AHHHHH! So, I did ask if waiting this long was OK-- because he still has active NB cells in the tumor-- and today they said Well, we need to decide how long to wait and maybe we need to do something in the meantime-- SOMETHING? is the question of the day--- another round of chemo...??? what? So, we are waiting to see what we hear-- Let's just pray that my Dr. gets in touch with the surgeon at Sloan--that is who we want to do the surgery-
He is feeling fine-- a little restless-- and ready to go home! He does not want to miss Festival in the Park!!! He is eating and possibly may get to go home without the TPN (IV nutrition :)!!! That would be great-- he would be able to sleep without getting tangled up in cords and no alarms for me to reset at night!!

You sure have been on a rollercoaster! Know we are thinking about you every day. As you know, Kailyn started Kindergarten this year and we are starting to try to read, although we aren't quite there yet. It was funny, because she was struggling with pretty much every word, but we came to the word GO and she knew it. I looked at her and she said, "You know, Mom, like Go Grier Go!" You all really are on our mind, even at storytime!
Love to you all,
Lesley
Amy,
It's a good thing you haven't told us the Doctor's name, because I think a few moms would be calling him/her to get on the ball and take care of "our" Grier!
I have that Ronald McDonald contact on hold for anytime you need it...Big healing prayers your way.
Madeline
Amy,
We will keep praying harder than ever. We will also send positive thoughts to the surgeon. If he just met all of you-Grier would be at the top of the list.
Everyday that Mitch is at school he talks about Grier. I think he sees the bracelet and knows it is Grier's school. Today he told me Grier was in the hospital and soon he was going to E_YORK. His face lights up when he talks about Grier.
As always we think of you everyday.

Amy,
I sure wish I could make this easier on you...you know, be married to the SK surgeon so you could get right in!! Wouldn't that be awesome?!! In the meantime we are just praying that Grier gets better QUICKLY and that this surgeon and his fleet of support staff get to it IMMEDIATELY!
As always, we are praying and hoping Grier is as comforatble as possible and that everything moves ahead in a timely fashion. I do hope that you don't have to delay so long that another round of chemo is necessary. However, I would say that if you do need to have the 6th round, you may feel a bit better that you're stunting the growth until you can get to NYC. I'm sure you and Jeff are the Queen and King of looking for the positive in everything. It truly is the best way to look at life in general...and your's is such a positive disposition and always has been. You all are a fine example of how to address life's ups and downs!
Please know that I am here for anything you might need or want. Amy, lunch tomorrow? I have a sitter! Let me know!
Lots of Love and Prayers...
Dina
Hi Amy,
As Lesley said, what a roller coaster! I was planning to stop by CMC tomorrow a.m. and I am so glad to hear you are headed home instead!! I hope that the S K surgeon can get back with you ASAP! Hope Grier will enjoy the Festival...It was great to see Grace at choir tonight. Love and prayers for you all!
