After we finished today at the donor room we had to go back to the PDH-- while we were waiting Grier got to meet a NY Yankee-- he now is the proud owner of a new Yankees hat and a baseball signed by Joba Chamberlain-- He had his picture taken with Joba too-- There is a program with the Yankees called Yankee Universe and they sell T's and all the proceeds go to Pediatrics at Sloan-- I think it is www.yankeeuniverse.com-- :) He was very excited to see a real baseball player!
Hopefully, this will be the last update from NY until the first week of January--- we have to come back and do lots of scans and tests to see where we are in the battle to get rid of NB-- After that.. the NB team will meet and decide what protocol Grier fits into and then we will start the 3F8 treatment-- it will be one week a month for awhile and then it will space out to every 2 months--This could go on for two years-- or his body starts to attack mouse antibody-
We will also do radiation in between the first and third week of 3f8--
Merry Christmas to all of you-- And we will see ya in Charlotte!!-- Pray that we make the plane and it does not get cancelled--

How great to meet a real baseball player. Glad you had some fun with all you have been going thru.
I know tomorrow will be so hectic but hopefully once you are sitting on the plane you can relax a little. As least get a little rest before the mad rush in Charlotte starts.
Safe travels and we look forward to you being back.
Love,

Hope you make the plane and arrive safely in Charlotte. Glad that the harvesting is over. I wish for you many blessings this Christmas. Will be thinking of you and praying for you
Love and Merry Christmas to each of you.
Go, Grier, go!!

Praying for a safe and successful trip home to Charlotte! You need to get back to rest up for your new year...sounds like quite a lot planned for the next many months. How great it will be to beat the NB...this will certainly all be worth it! How you are all thought of throughout each and every day...with tons of love!
Grier must have been so delighted to meet a professional baseball player! And now the proud owner of an autographed baseball hat and ball...AWESOME!!!! Can't wait to see that picture.
I love the "Groundhog Day" title and comment. The photo matches the mood...same stuff, different day. You all are so patient (wow, is that word ever powerful)...never thought of Grier as a patient having to be patient. In any event, I look forward to hearing that you're back in town and in your own home/beds! Wonderful!!
Be safe, be quick and be well!
Love,
Dina
Amy, Jeff and Grier,
Hope you will be able to escape "groundhog day" today!!!
Prayers are sent your way for everything to run as scheduled!
love Isabel
Wow ! We really like Joba Chamberlain (it's easy to hate the Yankees as a team, but we do appreciate some of their players...!) There was an excellent story on Joba in Sports Illustrated a while back with some great pictures and a very interesting story of him growing up in some tough times. I'm sure I still have it around here so I'll find it for you guys. And lucky Joba to get to meet Grier!
A happy experience in the midst of some trying days, you'll have another step behind you .... can't wait to hear that you're home.
