Today has been very busy with phone calls and a visit from Kidspath-- Grier had his counts checked and it looks like he may need platelets tomorrow-- We will go to clinic to check again before we leave for MSKCC- We are able to stop the neupogen so that is one less IV medication I need to give!

I know there are a lot of people working on the party at Freedom Park this weekend-- it sounds great!! There is going to be an article in the CLT Observer on Sunday about Grier and all you guys that have helped our family since March-- I talked to the reporter today and I hope he understood what I said-- it was a little emotional for me to go back to March 2007-- I am sure I did not mention everyone that has had a hand in helping us at one point-- but know that I tried!! I am so thankful to the blog because he could read what has happened since then! He even knew "Dina the blogger"!!! Too funny-- Dina I can always count on reading a blog from you or Mary Ellen!!!

The good news-- I have talked to Dr. Longee again -- he called today with Grier's counts and to tell me the bone scan was clean-- I also asked him a zillion questions about things I was told last week by the Dr. on call that was alarming to me-- I am not going over all the info but basically last Thursday was like a 2nd diagnoses day for me-- I heard a lot of stuff about past scans and tests that did not match up to what I thought I knew-- Well-- it turns out I just need to go with what I thought I knew from Dr. L-- I am sure that confused some of you!! Sorry I am trying to be NICE!!!

Amy,

Here I am...the "blogger!" I am emotional along with you...I can not believe you're going to NYC in 3 days! No one can imagine the wave of emotions you must be feeling at this point with mixed the journey to NY, packing, making arrangements for Hayes & Grace here, and on top of that mixed results from tests...I am deeply sorry that you have had to deal with that on top of your already overloaded emotional state. I wish I could take away some of your worry and frustration and carry it myself. Know that you are NOT alone and that you have so many friends carrying you in their hearts non-stop every day in the hopes that we will lift you up in spirit!
Hoping Grier continues to get stronger and back to his "bouncy" self...and very hopeful that your trip is without incident.
Please don't hesitate to call with any requests...I can get to you in 2 minutes flat!
TONS OF LOVE TO YOU ALL!!
Dina

Amy,
So glad to hear you got to talk to Dr L. again- I had heard that you had a different doctor... It sounds like Dr L. knows the most about it anyway. Glad he could ease some of your worry- esp before your trip to NYC. And, I hope your trip up there is uneventful and you have lots of warm smiles to greet you. :)

Can't wait to read about Grier in the paper! You can tell him he is a celebrity now! :) So happy to hear he is doing better and his counts are coming up!

Have a great weekend. Can't wait to hear all about Grier's celebration on Sunday. You have soooo many people praying for you and lifting you up every day. Enjoy the weekend & have a safe trip. Love, Jennifer H

Amy,
I know that you are extremely busy preparing for MSKCC. Just want you to know I am thinking of you and want to help out in any way I can. I'm glad you were able to talk in depth about your concerns with Dr. Longee today and that he was able to make you feel better. I am also glad you were able to drop one of the IV meds. I hope you can get some rest tonight and that things go well tomorrow.

Love,
Troy

Amy,
I am so thrilled for you that you are finally getting to NY. You have been on my mind SO much..last weekend I couldn't stop thinking of you and Jeff. GOod luck at the Ronald McDonald HOuse...don't forget to go to American Girl Place when Grace comes to visit! You will be there for halloween probably?? Don't forget something for Grier to dress up with even if he is in the hospital! I think you need your own white coat and scrubs to wear...you've definitly gotten a quick education in health care...I have to echo Dina's comments..remember you are NOT alone! WE are with you in spirit.

Amy,

So happy to know you got to talk with Dr.L and confirm the info you have. I know you are anxious about your trip for many reasons. God will continue to help you through this journey. I can be in the city in an hour and forty five minutes. I would love to come for the day if you get all your tests done and are just waiting and need to just go for a ride or get out a little and can. There is nothing good or clean about a cab ride. I have learned to drive in the city with the best of them. Anything you need that I could bring that you cannot take on the plane? Maybe I could do something to help now that you are going to be in my kneck of the woods. Please just know we all continue to pray and think of you all daily. You all continue to touch so many of us in our daily lives and I hope you continue to feel our positive energy. I will give you a call.
Love and Support,
Stephanie Gillespie

I cannot even imagine all that you have going on in your mind right now. Just try to focus on how much we all love you and are here for all of you. Everyone is praying for your family. Grier is a well known little boy at St Rose grammer school in N.J. Those children really know how to pray. Please know I will be blogging until the cows come home.
You are with our thoughts daily and we love all of you.
Lots of love and prayers.

I am praying that this is Grier's level II step to getting him well again. Just know that we will all be with you in spirit as you travel to NY. Praying for a safe and successful journey. I know 'the surgeon' :) will just fall in love with sweet Grier as we all have.

I know you are really sad about missing my dancing moves on Sunday.:) You know I will be shaking my booty for Grier!

Hello All,

I was given your name via Laurie Reid and Suzanne Rupp. I believe that my contact information should be passed along to you very soon.

I am a recent grad from NYU and have been living in NYC for 3 years, and I actually live exactly 2 blocks from the Ronald McDonald House, on 75th Street between 1st and York. I’m extremely familiar with the area, using public transportation, shopping, and have more than enough time to help because all that I do is go to work for 10 hours a day (my roommate is in the same situation) :) My mom (a friend of Suzanne Rupp) also wanted me to convey that she lives about an hour outside of the city and comes in once a week and would love to make Wal-Mart runs, or deliver anything from the suburbs.

My primary email address is eminiger@axiomlegal.com, please reach out!

Hope to hear soon!
Emily

Amy,

I am so glad that things are moving along with your trip. I know that none of us can possibly imagine the wave of emotions all of you have right now, but please know that we all love you and are praying for you each and every day. Kailyn still remembers Grier each night in her prayers. It is extremely heartwarming to see how much all of the children love and pray for you all. We will continue to pray that God will shelter you and wrap you in his love. Know that you have an entire church family cheering you on through this next step in your journey.

Love to you all,
Lesley Shroyer

Amy,

I LOVE the new picture of Grier at the new LCH clinic!! He looks like he is feeling tons better...I am so very thankful!

My thoughts are so focussed on you all as you get ready for your trip to NYC. I am so excited for Grier and hopeful that plans move ahead for his surgery in a timely fashion. I am hopeful also that you have a good experience with the doctors and staff at MSKCC and that they are responsive to your needs, questions, and apprehensions.

All our love and prayers...
