Today went much better in the world of antibody treatment--- we managed to get through the 50 minute infusion without a breathing or blood pressure crisis. We did have something new-- HIVES!!! He was covered all over his face and a little on his shoulders-- Again this is to be expected-- After he fell asleep we noticed his bottom lip was VERY swollen-- and even since we have been back to the Ronald he is still swollen in his face-- Hopefully that will wear off soon as well as the bad headache!
Tomorrow-- the plan will be different... Grier will have anesthesia first thing in the morning and have bone marrows done in 4 locations-- then we will head over to the 3F8-
This was suppose to be done on Friday-- but was moved to Wednesday--
Thanks again for all the cards and gifts--- He looks at them as he feels up to it-- so it takes a while to get to each of them!! Thanks to the kids at ETES in Mrs. Hayles, Ms. LaRusch, Mrs. Graybeal, and Ms. Riegel's classes-- (I hope I remembered them all) The cards were very cute-- And thanks also to First Pres Weekday school-- and Emily's preschool in Virginia!!!
This is the 200th post on gogriergo.com--- thanks to all that have left messages over the last 11 months-- They have helped us a lot--- And thanks to those that are "lurkers"-- (David Shroyers word!!!!) Go and ahead and sign the blog so we know who reads it!!
I almost forgot--- It is snowing here!!! Hopefully we will make it to Sloan without slipping tomorrow!!! It is going to change to ice tonight---

I was reading about an article in the parents magazine about the same thing that Grier is going through and how hard it has been for this one family. I know how hard this must be and we pray for you every night before bed. I think what great parents you and Jeff are and what great families and friends you both have to help you through this very stressful time, but we all see the old Grier coming back! Go Grier Go! SNOW! Does Grier love seeing it fall from the sky? I hope he's able to enjoy watching it.
So glad today went much better. Hopeful that the swelling and headache will pass quickly this afternoon into dinnertime...or is that brunch or lunch time? I can't keep up, as I'm sure you have difficulty doing as well.
Praying that the remainder of the week will get even better, treatment and side-effect-wise. Here's to good days and peaceful nights with plenty of rest for all! Also, prayers for a speedy return to Charlotte on FRIDAY!
Thinking of you with a stedfast and loving heart...
Dina
Well I certainly do not want to be called a “lurker”, so I guess I’ll have to venture out and post my first “blog” entry. I have been reading the blog regularly over the past months and am continually impressed and inspired by the strength and determination your entire family has shown over the course of this very difficult period. My heart goes out to Grier for the countless procedures and hospital stays he has to endure for such a long time. He has faced his illness with perseverance and more courage than most adults could ever think of mustering. He is blessed with a wonderful, caring family that will march through hell and back to help him. God bless Grier and the entire Christenbury family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Good Luck with the bone marrow procedure tomorrow, Grier! You’re a Champ!

Snow indeed. Tell Grier we need some down here. We're thinking of you, hoping the ice doesn't come till after you're safely at Sloan.
Always thinking of you and praying for the best for Grier, his doctors and his family!
We'll be glad to hear you're back home.

Hey Amy and Jeff,
Can't believe this is the 200th blog. Amy, you are quite the writer. Maybe when this all over and done with, you and I should collaborate on a book..maybe a children's book and the proceeds could go to NB research! I'm glad today was better for Grier. Can't wait until you guys get home.
Love,
The Graysons
OK, so I guess I qualify as a lurker (how embarassing!), but please know that I am a fellow Covenant member following your story. Our young women's Hineni Circle has been praying for your family. Your blogs are heart-touching; it is encouraging to see God's provision for you during this difficult time, and brave of you to share your struggles openly. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family to NYC and back, several times over.

I hope for no headache or hives. That sweet little boy has had it all. We will have to do something extra special when he gets home. Hope you are all staying warm. I remember how cold those N.Y. nights can be. Hot water bottles work great. I used to put them in my coat before I went outside.
I got an e-mail from Trish and as soon as the magnets are ready we will get on it.
My love to all of you. As you know I am always thinking of you.

I guess I'm a lurker, I've been following your blog for months and pray regularly for all of you. I learned about you from Jeff's mother. I met her at Southpark one day and she told me about Grier. I'll keep watching and praying! My heart is with you.

I guess I am a lurker, but I am also a prayer partner. I check on Grier every morning before I have my quiet time, and have been since last April. He is always in my morning prayers and in my kid's prayers at night. We have two four year old friends here in Greenville, Sc with the same thing. They are all held close in prayer. We can't wait to read that you are back at home. We know that this has been a long visit, but know that you are not alone. God holds you in his great big strong hands. Keep up the fight and know that we are praying hard.

Our fingers are crossed that everything works out for y'all to come home on Saturday! I know Saturday can't come soon enough for all of you. You remain in our thoughts and prayers - hang in there and lots and lots of hugs from our house to yours! See you back on the street soon.
Love,
Pete, Sally and Molly
HOORAY for a better day, except for the hives -- why can't the little guy get a break??? Hope the swelling and headache will be gone and not remembered tomorrow morning!
Sounds like another big day for Grier -- will pray hard for a clean bone marrow tomorrow. That would be a great valentine gift for your family!
COOOOLD is all I hear from NYC, but even the snow and ice can't stop the love and warmth that is coming to you from everywhere tonight. I know it will help you through the cold from the Ronald to MSKCC tomorrow morning! We're anxious to welcome you home to warmer weather this weekend!
Stay warm and keep your spirits up, for miracles keep happening for Grier. Sleep tight -- Go Grier Go!!
Love and prayers tonight and every night,
Betty G
I don't write often enough, but not a day goes by that I don't think of Grier and his courageous family. I have read all 200 blogs, and I imagine more people than you will ever know have been touched by Grier's situation, touched by your blogs that you write so eloquently, and often with humor, and have been inspired by your courage and and Grier's courage. It breaks my heart to think of all that little guy has to go through every day, and the thousands of other children like him who are also experiencing this situation.
We are praying for Grier, and hoping that spring will bring a new beginning for all of you.
Good luck tomorrow!
Janis Rikard
Grier, Please bring us some of the snow when you come on Saturday---no ice just snow. We check on you daily and think positive thoughts all the time. Hope that today is an even better day and remember the week is almost over. The Eldridges
Another "lurker" coming forward. I have been keeping up with this blog for almost the entire duration of Grier's illness. I am a former member of Covenant PResbyterian, grew up in the church, married there and had both my children baptized there. I still have may friends at Covenant and regularly keep up with the newsletters and bulletins.
Grier is one amazing young boy with a multitude of angels watching over him and your entire family. Your strength and determination is incedible!
May your faith, family and friends continue to be with you and support you during this time.
Go Grier Go!

I don't want to be a "lurker" so I better introduce myself. I am Jeff's mother's cousin, our dads were brothers. When I heard about Grier I was heartbroken. We also have a family member with a 3 year old fighting NB. He was diagnoised in October 2007.(chaseringler.com) I have been following your blog and pray for Grier and your entire family daily. Grier is such a strong and handsome little guy. I love his photos and you have done a wonderful job keeping this blog. May God keep you safe in your travels and keep His healing hands on Grier!
