We made it through another day-- and YES-- we are half way done with these radiation treatments!!
This afternoon was hard-- we went back to the clinic at 1:45-- like they said.... and were told to wait at least 20 minutes to be"hooked" up to an IV pole-- Well-- by 2:15 we walked back to the room to see if they were ready--- and we still had to wait-- Our procedure was scheduled for 2:30-- So I had a feeling we were not going to make that time-- and we didn't-- we started around 3:15 and left the hospital around 4:00-- he ate a Nutra Grain bar in a groggy state as we headed to his requested spot--- for Breakfast, lunch, and dinner!! Johnny Rockets!! He ate a little and danced in the booth to the songs he was playing on the "juice box"!! He was funny tonight when Jeff asked what he has for dinner while talking to him on the phone... he said.. wait... I did not have dinner!! I said yes we did we went to Johnny Rockets and he said ..no.. that was lunch!! We are way off our schedule-- can u tell?
Tomorrow will be the same-- he is already negotiating about when and what he can eat-- Try explaining to a savvy 3 year old--- no.. you can eat after the second dose of the white medicine ( which is 6 hours apart from each other) .--- And he has no concept of time!! FUN!!!
Thanks for all the cards, gifts, ecards.... they are great!!! Please remember small is best!!! Everyone is so thoughtful-- I love reading the cards--- and hearing from folks I have not been able to see in a long time--- I have had a few questions about mail being returned to them--- RMDH does not save mail-- even for a few days--- so they return to sender when we check out-- Crazy but true--- We are hoping to check out this time by the 15th or 16th--- but it could be as late as the 18th!!

Thinking of you all as I hear reports of the Super Bowl parade. Grier was right. The Giants did win! We let our kids watch until half time and then put them to bed. We are such Scrooges! Mac has woken up the last 2 mornings asking to watch the end of the SuperBowl instead of Clifford and Go Diego Go. There are worse things a 4 year old could watch.
I can't imagine what the waiting is like for you and Grier. I know how frustrated I get waiting for the Dr. to walk in the room during a sick or well visit. Grier is awfully lucky to have you to keep him entertained.
Saw the beautiful snow in NYC yesterday and realized it can't be so pretty when you are walking around in it. Hoping you all get some of the warm weather we have here.
Happy Mardi Gras!

Hi Amy,
Hope today was a bit better for Grier than yesterday, It looks like you have rain again in NYC....It is very warm here. Glad you have made it halfway thru the radiation treatments. Hope the 3f8 will go on as scheduled and then you can all come home for a while. Sending love and prayers to Grier and you!
The Baders :+}
I wish I could see him singing and dancing to the juice box. Hope tomorrow will be a little more timely for you.
We keep you so close in our thoughts and prayers. We so appreciate your blogs.
Hope you get some good food and some rest.
With love,

WOW -- several months ago Grier wouldn't eat anything and now that's all he can talk about! How things change -- glad he is thinking about food all the time instead of the procedures he is going through! Glad things went well today despite the waiting and waiting and waiting. Sounds like you are entertaining each other very well through all the waiting -- dancing at Johnny Rockets must be a hoot!
So glad the Giants won! Have they had a parade there yet? I knew Grier would pick the winning team -- winners can always pick winners!
Happy that everyone is flooding the Ronald with mail for Grier -- that little guy has quite a following, doesn't he?
Hope tomorrow goes well -- the end of radiation is now in sight, so hang in there!
Sleep well, love to you, Grier, and Maggie!
