Another test result!
The test came back and he has a hard type of bacteria to treat in his line-- so the weird part is he should look and act sicker -- he does not have a fever and his counts are increasing each day-- so they took another culture just in case-- The only option is to surgically replace the line/port-- We may go home on Thursday and wait the 5 days at home and hopefully nothing will grow out during that time-

I'm sorry you are being confronted with so many more issues than anticipated. I wish we could all make them go away...especially for Grier's sake! One huge positive is Grier doesn't seem to notice all of this is going on! HOORAY! We'll keep on praying that the bacteria are affected by the meds he's on now and get you all home soon!
Please, please let any of us know if you need anything...I do mean even toilet paper or personal items...so many of your friends are waiting to help out with the least little thing or the biggest something! Don't forget all of the friends you have programmed in your cell...there's a reason our numbers are in there! Put us to work!!

I hope you all will get home on Thursday. It is awesome to hear that Grier is just powering thru despite all these infections. I pray for continued strength for you and Jeff to weather all the ups and downs.

I am so sorry to hear of all of the infection issues, but I am happy to hear that Grier is in good spirits and powering through! Unfortunately, Kailyn and I were at Arboretum Pediatrics yesterday, and Kailyn was excited to show Dr. Sullivan her Go Grier Go bracelet. Dr. Sullivan said for me to please let you know she is thinking of you all if I spoke to you. Kailyn reminded me of the time we were hanging out in the waiting room together! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers!!

Amy, I'm so sorry Grier has had all these extra little nuisances to contend with. I'm hoping and praying that they go away soon and that you can go home again for a few days.
And we do pray. The girls and I pray for you and Grier every night when I put them to bed.
