Tuesday, May 1st— and early Wednesday, May 2, 2007
Chemo started around 10am – and Grier was still in his good mood—He stayed with my Mom and Jeff’s parents while I went and ate lunch with Hayes and Grace at school—Anne and Mac went with me too! After lunch we came back and a picnic was waiting for us. Grier was shooting baskets, and playing with Pat and Buddy (dog puppet that only speaks to Ms. Pat)—I will let Pat explain Buddy—I did not know who he was but as soon as Grace came in she said oh- that’s Buddy! He has a new “cars” TV tray that he loves to eat on as well as color and play crazy eights-- He is still entertaining nurses we had when we first were admitted—they come to hear him talk since he did not say a word for 20+ days--- Grier had a piece of pizza for dinner and ate it while Dr. L talked to us for a good hour—I think he is entertained by Grier too—he left wearing a Go Grier Go hat!! --- We all went downstairs for dinner after a few games of Hide and seek with Grier—Anne taped it and showed the video to Grier and he said “ hey! I have a new haircut~~~” We all laughed because I guess he did not remember when Ross showed him the mirror after we were done buzzing his hair-
The nights have been different—he is not sleeping as well and early Wednesday morning he spiked a fever— but other than that everything seems fine—we will do a scan in about 3 weeks to see how much the tumor has shrunk—
I did find out the Neuroblastoma research funding is far less that other types of cancer—so hopefully through this experience we all can change that!!
Grier Martin Christenbury(age 2 1/2) was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma on Tuesday, March 27, 2007- This blog is to help family and friends know how he is doing with treatments. Go Grier Go! www.caringbridge.org/visit/grierchristenbury

Hi Everyone!
It was great to hear that you all had a good day yesterday! I hope that the trend continues! It sounds like Grier is feeling more like himself which is wonderful. Fingers crossed that he will start to sleep a little better as rest is good for everyone!! Amy, I am so glad that you have been able to get out a little bit and spend time with Grace and Hayes. Will look forward to the next update!
Love,Posey
Hello again this morning!
Glad to hear all of the positive re: Grier! So glad that everyone on 7 is now getting to know the sweet boy that we've all grown to know and love...I bet they can't get enough of him!
Hope things go well today and that maybe the fever is just one of those "phantom" fevers, as we call them. Looking forward to seeing Grier in his new and improved state...as I said of Mitch when he felt better, he was back to his 3-year old tricks again!
I got a big chuckle when you told about Grier noticing his "new" hair cut...hilarious. He is beyond precious! So many people, along with my mom and sister-in-law, continue to ask me about Grier and enjoy the updates even though they don't know your family. So many folks are pulling for Grier on a daily basis and I hope and pray that this continues to bring you peace and comfort.
Well, enough for now, except GO GRIER GO!!
Love and prayers...
Dina
Amy and Jeff,
It is so good to hear that Grier is feeling better and eating and talking! I think about all of you all the time, and am so hopeful that this second round will go better than the first and that you will all get to go home soon! Lots of love to all of you,
Bekah
Dear Amy,
I have been following Grier's progress on the blog and am continuing to pray for him everyday. I hope that this round of chemo is easier for him so that you have more time at home before the next round. I just found out that someone from my neighborhood is in the room next door to you, room 7926, with her little boy who just started his first round of chemo yesterday. The mom's name is Tara if you wish to support each other. I hope that Grier continues to stay strong and feel more like himself.
Love, Heather Zucker
Amy & Jeff -- thanks for the updates. We're pulling hard for Grier and you guys are always in our prayers.

Glad to hear round 2 is off to a good start and that the "real Grier" is back. He has been missed.
What is the expected stay this time?? Hopefully home by this weekend to catch some great baseball! :) See you at the fields,

Amy,
I had a phone call from my sister-in-law, Anne from Germany yesterday. She called to check on Grier! My brother and her were here visiting when the Go Grier Go bands starting being worn and she took one back to Germany with her and has folks over there praying for your little man! I wonder how you say Go Grier Go in German?
Keep the faith!
Love

Hey Guys. What a sense of relief and joy you all must be feeling to have the real Grier re-emerging! I'm so glad that Anne and Mac have been able to share some time and fellowship with you all. I trust you can continue to gather strength from them as well as those of us who keep you in our thoughts but are not physically present. Remember to get rest when you can! You have our hearts and minds in your corner...

Amy,
I've been having trouble figuring out this comment posting thing and
am not sure my messages are getting through. So I'm hoping this will work today and you'll know that you are in our prayers and we're cheering for Grier all the way. Glad to hear the next treatment round has gotten off to a good start. Go, Grier, Go!
Much love to you all, Martha Mallory
Hi Amy-
I thought of you and Grier today when I bought cookies AND lollipops at the mall today for JackCharlie. You know I usually make them droll over Grier's! You would of been proud. Hope this brings more laughter to room 7925 today. I hope to visit it again soon!

Hello Friends!
Just want to let you know we're continuing our daily prayers and many, many thoughts for Grier and hope this round is going a bit better than last.
Amy, I'm out and about tomorrow. Call me on my cell if there's anything I can do for you. I never got to Target the other day...second chance...any requests? Call me on my cell.
Hope you're getting some rest and look forward to seeing you soon!
Lots of Love...
Dina
Hope all is going well this time around! Still thinking about and praying for you every day. Grace's smile at lunch always reminds me what a wonderful family you have and how strong you all are! Go Christenburys Go!!
