Today went as planned-- the good thing was we got him to scream when he was in pain instead of holding it in--- and his oxygen levels were good the entire time-- The funny thing about this treatment is that no day is the same-- and each day is very unpredictable!! We have been told to expect hives-- so that may happen during the next two doses-- who knows! He slept at the PDH for a couple of hours and then we put him in the stroller and came back to the RMDH-- When we got here and all 3 of us took a short nap! He is complaining of a headache-- and he had the same complaint last night-- it was nothing that Tylenol could not handle-- He still does not act like he remembers each morning-- truly amazing!!! He has perked up each afternoon a little earlier each day-- ready to play a "real" pinball machine!! And check the mailbox-- it is funny how he puts himself into a new routine here!
Tomorrow will be a bit different-- We are going to try to get "worked" in with the Radiation Oncologist early-- So, we will met with her @ 9:30-- HOPEFULLY!!! But you know how things work here-- Our appt. is at 11:00--- but that really messes up with our morning time slot of 3F8-- So, we would love to not get off that morning schedule -- it is working for us right now!
This is just the consultation for his radiation treatments-- Everyone says she is awesome so I am looking forward to hearing what she says--

Hi Amy Jeff and Grier,
Thanks for the update. It is so amazing that Grier is going thru this treatment with such determination, but like his Mom, he is a fighter! I wish there was a way to erase some of the bad memories from your and Jeff's mind but I am so glad Grier seems to not remember too much. I hope and pray that the next 2 treatments are uneventful and that the 3F8 will start working very soon. Good luck getting the Radiation appt in the am..
love Isabel :+}
I am so happy that you are more than half way thru the first week. I am so amazed with Grier-in the mist of everything that you guys are going thru, he still is so excited about the mail, juice machine, and pinball! Can you believe how fast our kids bounce back? I know he is far from acting like the "real Grier", but I am pretty sure if I was going thru 3F8, I would be in bed the whole day! Someone told me a saying while I was in the mist of things with Charlie-"you have to just put your head down and get thru it b/c you will be in your happy place again soon!"
Lot's of love-
Trisha
You amaze me everyday. You always have an upbeat attitude and that is what will carry you all thru. We thought about you all day. Our hearts and prayers are with you.
Please know not a minute goes be that we are not thinking of you.
Lots of love,

Golly, Amy! I know how proud you must be of your little fellow being such a tough guy! Wonder where he got that from? :)
Glad things continue to go as much on schedule as it has so far.
We continue to love you all from afar and pray for you daily!
I wish I had words to describe the gift you give us everyday by your updates and positive attitude!
Blessings to you all!
Martha M.
I stand in awe of Grier...... he is my hero!! Your family has been on my heart and in my prayers daily. It breaks my heart to hear of Grier's pain during treatment as I know that yours does. God will surely give you all extra strength to get through this piece of this unpredictable journey. I talked with Hayes briefly today. He said that he was looking forward to getting to New York. The super sibs are very brave.
I am happy that Grier doesn't remember much from treatment to treatment. Incredible. Wish you and Jeff could have something to help you forget. Hope the 3F8 begins to do its job quickly and that the radiation appt. goes well.
With love and prayers,
Mrs. D.
I love that you are wanting Grier to scream!! So glad you taught him how to scream today to keep the oxygen levels good -- you may regret coaxing him to scream!!! I know you and Jeff would love to scream too!
Seriously, so glad that things went pretty well today. Grier is so flexible and rolls with the punches (and he's getting lots of those this week!) -- just amazing!
You and Jeff are amazing too as you watch your beautiful child scream, get poked, pricked, sleep, and run for the mailbox, the pinball machine and the juice machine! WOW -- you three are something else!
We are expecting a "wintry mix" tonight, so maybe no school tomorrow. You know the more it's talked about, the less chance that we actually get snow. It looks like the front is moving up from the south, so maybe.....
Hope you are all resting comfortably tonight and will sleep well. Stay warm and know you are in many thoughts and prayers tonight.
Love to you all,
Betty G
Crazy times for you all! How strange that each day is different. However, each day seems to prove that Grier is truly amazing! His positive disposition and stamina have been unwavering. You GO GREIR GO!!!!!!
Hope tomorrow goes well and that your appts remain on schedule. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers non-stop.
As you stated in a blog some time back, it seems as thought Grier is living "Groundhog Day!" This time it's not all bad that he does not seem to remember the terror of the day before. What a blessing!
Tons of love and prayers...
Dina
What an amazing little boy. I know that most of us adults would be kicking and screaming not wanting to go back each day!! You are all so stong with the most powerful attitude to get through this. I pray each day continues with some kind of ease. Just 2 more to go!!! I really can't get my mind around what it must be like, your stength is endless and that truly must be a gift from God!!
GO GRIER GO!!!! and Mommy and Daddy too!!!
Much love and prayers,
Stephanie G.
Amy, you never cease to amaze me with your gift of words. Your entries are very helpful because they help all of us know how to pray specifically.
One of my prayers has been that God would give Grier strenght which passes all understanding. So far it sounds like he has been able to handle this unbearble treatment better than maybe expected.
I will continue to pray for strenght for you and Jeff as well. Also, that Grier will scream a little (how hard that has to be for you).
Grier's attitiude and ability to bounce back is a gift for all of us to witness.
Cards from Covenant are on their way. We sang "This little light of mine on Sunday" and we asked God to shine it all over New York City and all over Grier. I asked the kids how we could help shine God's light in New York and one of them said, "we could pray for Grier and send him cards." Hope you are all feeling and seeing the light shinning the midst of this dark time.
Love, Pat
TWO TO GO!!!! Hang in there. Thinking and praying for you. Sent you latest entry to the mountains and to Winston-Salem, so prayers are heading your way from all over.We love you guys. The Stack Family
