Our Radiation Simulation went fine today-- We got to the hospital at 10... and they said there had been some cancellations today so they were ahead of schedule!! Can you believe I just told you that!! WOW! The "team" examimed him and said he looked fine for anesthesia-- we headed down?? to the radiation simulation area and after a 40 minute wait he was done! He has some tattoos-- that will be with him forever-- and they made a mold of his chest & abdomen-- We finished about noon and he was starving so we headed to dunkin doughnuts!!!
We are trying to come home in the morning-- we are going to fly home on a "buddy pass" so pray that we get some seats on a plane! We will leave early in the morning and hopefully get on the first flight but there are others during the day that have seats open too- Corporate Angel does not have any flights right now-- hopefully we will be able to return with them - I guess you can now call us frequent flyers!!!
We have to be back in NY on Tuesday night or EARLY Wednesday morning to start radiation 2 times a day until the 8th-- Then we will be "off "for the weekend and start 3F8 on Monday the 11th! After the second round of that he will have another bone marrow test and then we can come home! It should be around the 15th of February! You can now see why I am so ready to get home for a fews days-

Hope all works out for the flight tomorrow. I hope you can get out early so you will have more time at home. I know allot of people will be happy to have you back in Charlotte.
I am sorry the schedule ahead is going to be so long. We will pray he does as well with all of this as he has been doing. He is simply amazing. That little body has been thru so much and he just keeps on going. I am sure the Dr's and nurses have all fallen in love with him.
Well, I hope you get some rest tonight before your trip tomorrow.
We will pray for a quick and easy trip home and as always BIG prayers for sweet Grier.
You are in our hearts,
The Paine's
Wow-
I am so glad that you get to come home for a week! Your kids (and friends) will be som excited to see you! We will have to pull you away for some R&R and a movie before you head back to NY. NY for Valentine's Day-I wonder if they put hearts on the buildings like in the movie Sleepless in Seatle?? You will have to let us know. See you soon.

What a grueling schedule and bunch of treatments Grier is going through. And he keeps on smiling and going on - such a trooper! Just like his parents :)

Wow - so glad that worked out! Hope your travel day is uneventful tomorrow and that you get home safe and sound. I'm glad you'll have some time at home before you have to return - maybe I can catch you for a quick hug this time :)
Love to you all!

You continue to be in our prayers. God Bless You All......

Grier is like the Energizer Bunny or maybe a Timex watch -- "takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'"!! What a super kid to go through all he's been through and come up smiling, jumping from bed to bed, running to the mailbox, and eating Dunkin Doughnuts and, oh yeah, playing Bugs)!! INCREDIBLE!!
Hope you get out of NYC and home early in the day. Glad you'll be home for a week. Your R&R this week with some friends should include drinks!!! and "27 Dresses" -- everyone says it's cute and girlie, and I think you deserve that!
Sleep tight tonight and fly safe tomorrow!
Love, hugs, and prayers,
Betty G
Wow! Getting home for a few days will be a breath of fresh air! We will be thinking of and praying for you from now until we find out you're all home safe & sound! So hoping all goes well and you get home in a hurry to have a bit of "down time" (i.e. no appts at the PDH at wee hours, no need to arrive anywhere more than 15 minutes early).
Rest well knowing that you're coming home tomorrow to open arms and hearts here in Charlotte! Hopeful the trip is uneventful and that Grier is comfortable and entertained by some lucky person whom you have not met yet! Clearly he is winning the hearts of all he meets and tomorrow's flight will likely prove more of the same!
Lots of love...
Dina
After reading all that Grier has been through the last few days, I was thinking what an amazing little guy he is. To endure all he has been through and then to bounce back so cheerfully is so inspiring. After thinking all this, I read the other comments and was struck by the fact that everyone else was thinking the same thing! Go Grier Go! You are truly amazing, and we are so thankful each day when you get through another procedure, and we get a good report from your amazing Mom!
So glad you will be back in Charlotte for a short while and hope all will go very well while you are here. Please know how much you are remembered every day, and how much love and prayers are being sent each day for Grier and all of the Christenburys.
Happy Flying tomorrow!
Janis Rikard
