They took him back exactly at 12-- how ironic that was the time we choose to all stop what we were doing and pray-
Jeff and I are hanging in -- we went for a tour of NY Presbyterian Cornell PICU- we do not know how long he will be there- just like we do not know how long the surgery will be-- Dr. LaQ-- says 'how ever long it takes'
We have had our first update from the nurse liason-- they had not started yet-- just asleep.. putting all the tubes in him.
He was a real champ waiting so long this morning-- he kept asking when he cold push the 'magic milk' -- He was so spoiled at CMC by Caroline and Dawn -- They always let him push syringes!!! He pushed the versid?? and he got a little goofy!!
That is it until we hear more-

We are all back here in Charlotte thinking about you and praying for everything to go smoothly. We love you all and look forward to seeing the report that Grier is awake and smiling! Go Grier Go!

We are anxiously awaiting each update! Grant said the sweetest prayer especially for Grier today. Amazing how a 3-year old can find the perfect words even when as adults we sometimes struggle.
You won’t believe what was on TV this morning... it was information on neuroblastoma and raising money to help find a cure! I couldn't believe the timing!
I hope you are all finding strength throughout the day knowing that everyone is truly with you and knowing that Grier couldn't be in better hands! Keep that stroller handy..It won’t be long before Grier will be ready to zip out of that hospital ready to head home!
Spirits High! Love to you all!

Amy and Jeff - we're in Birmingham still enjoying the fall weather outside, all the while knowing you are stuck inside. My dad led a prayer this morning about 11am Central Time with me and Sadye and Jeanie and Emmett at their breakfast room table. My parents have been following Grier as well, and an extended family prayer seemed fitting. This experience is teaching my kids so much about God, prayer, hope, love, family - we keep looking up at the blue fall sky and thinking of Gods hands in that operating room and his loving arms around all of your "waiters" - hang in there.

Amy and Jeff,
Thanks for the update. We woke up and prayed for Grier, Dr LaQ, both of you, Hayes and Grace. We went and got allergy shots and all prayed together on the way home. Sara Kathryn called BeBe (my mom) and they prayed together. We met Ben at noon at the chapel and prayed with everyone there. I received emails from friends in Atlanta, Charleston, Columbia and Charlotte saying they were praying too.
Thinking and saying lots of prayers for Grier, Dr. LaQ and your entire family all day long.
We love you,
Troy, Ben, Sara Kathryn and Woods
Amy,
We are all so anxious to hear about Grier's surgery, the progress, the outcome...hopeful that Grier will wake up without pain and that there will be great news to share as well.
Today's gathering at Covenant was wonderful. Pat always has a way of comforting. We sang Silent Night which was amazingly touching. Whenever two or more of you are gathered in his name, there is love...enormous amounts of love! Hopeful you felt our arms around you as we greeted and comforted one another.
I have gotten emails from friends and family from Charlotte and Delaware with prayers and concern and HOPE for Grier...Hope IS Good!
Looking forward to hearing more...will check back around 5pm in hopes that you've gotten some news to comfort your worried minds. Hopeful Hayes & Grace are coping well and keeping you all busy.
Lots of Love...
Dina
