update
This message is from Amy at 9:25 p.m. Grier has now been transferred across the street and has checked into the PICU. The surgeon felt that the surgery was successful. It'll be a long night of watching Grier very closely. Amy is not sure if her laptop is allowed in the PICU area. She'll try and update later.

I will be thinking and praying all night. I am so happy to hear they think it was a success. I cannot imagine the emotions you are feeling now. Try to focus on all the love and prayers that we are all sending to you. Just know even though we may not be there with you physically we are definitely with you in our hearts.
Lots of love,

Watch over that angel tonight -- he'll be bouncing back quicker than you think! So happy and grateful that surgery went well. Prayers will be coming all through the night to PICU!
Love to you 3 in PICU,

Amy and Jeff...
Praise, praise! This surgery was something we all prayed for~ for such a long time. Happy he is safely out of surgery. Will pray for comfort, rest and 10 little moving toes! :)
Thanks for all the updates!

We are thinking of you and praying too here in Cary. I am so glad you are finally at this point in recovery. You had to ride in an ambulance? NY hospitals! Amy, you and Jeff continue to be strong..you can do this...I believe in you! I believe in Grier!
The last prayer on my lips tonight and the first one in the morning... Go Grier Go!
Amy & Jeff,
Prayers for a quiet night full of rest and hope! So glad the surgery was a success...it is surely what we had all prayed for today. So hopeful that Grier is responsive upon waking and in a mood that is pleasing, excited to see you all at his side. How happy everyone will be when he asks if he can have his baseball glove and ball in his room:) He is a delight and we all look forward to tracking his days of recovery, hopeful that it will pass quickly and with very little pain/discomfort. We pray for you, Jeff & Amy, that you will be able to rest well knowing that your sweet baby boy no longer has the foreign tumor growing inside of his litle body...what a blessing:) God is good indeed to have blessed Dr. LaQ with the skills to accomplish this feat!
Know that prayers are coming to you both day & night as you help Grier on his road to full recovery. Hopeful that Grier and you will all rest easy tonight.
Love and Prayers...
Dina
Grier has been in my prayers all day, and all of you have been in my heart as I have gone through the day constantly thinking of you. So many, many people in Charlotte are pulling for you, and I am grateful to hear that he has come through the surgery successfully. Amy and Jeff, you are such amazing parents and have shown so much strength throughout these difficult months. You are an inspiration to all of us, and Grier is especially an inspiration to all of us. We hope to hear soon that he is ready to run as he used to love running on the playground, that he is ready to play baseball again soon, and that we will soon see that precious smile of his return to his face.
Please know how much all of us at the First Pres Weekday School are keeping you in our hearts and our prayers as you go through this new journey with Grier.
Love,
Janis
I have been checking the blog all day and thank you for the updates. It is really special that you take the time to share the days events with us. Grier and your entire family and team of doctors have not been out of my mind all day today. I was volunteering at school today and at noon I went to the chapel and said a prayer for grier and the doctors. Dean (my 5 yr old) asked about Grier when he got out of school today. He has seen the blog picture so much that he thinks he knows him:) I hope your night goes smoothly and that Grier blows everyone away with a super fast recovery. Everyone is always in my prayers and thoughts.
Take Care,
Susan Stone
Amy,
Waking this chilly morning thinking of you all. So hopeful that you had a decent night and that Grier is fever-free and comfortable:) I'm sure the children are anxious to see him today as they prepare to return to Charlotte...I'm hopeful they are able to do so.
No one person or family could be nearer to my heart than yours right now! As you said the recovery may be difficult, yet we are ever-so-grateful to welcome this time, finally.
Love to you all...
Dina
Amy and Jeff,
I went to sleep thinking and praying for sweet little Grier and your family… and woke up and prayed for Grier and your family. I’ll say a prayer for safe travels for Grace, Hayes and Maggie today. I know it will be hard for them to leave but am so glad that they were able to be there with you and Grier before, during and after his surgery. Still praying for strength and healing for Grier and glad to hear the Dr. feels like the surgery was a success!!! I’ll be praying all day today :)…
Love,
Troy
Hi Mr. and Mrs. Christenbury,
I just wanted to let you know that I have been praying for you, your family and especially Grier. I have been thinking about you a lot and I know God will give you what you need. Remember, He will not give us more than we can handle. Please tell Hayes and Grace that Mrs. Hayles said hello and misses them! Much love and many, many prayers, Erin Hayles
