Saturday

Today was a good day- I was a little worried because it started a little rough but it turned out to be a nice day for all of us-

Hayes, Grace and Jeff went to church for the Children’s Easter celebration and then came up here after lunch. Grace and Hayes had lots to say about church—I heard Ms. Pat was carrying a lamb in the sanctuary! I actually got a picture from Troy and Grier was able to see-

Grace and I went home for a while—and Hayes stayed with Jeff and Maggie. Grier had been quiet all day and still had no appetite but somehow Hayes had him playing ball! Hayes also got him to eat a little and drink something.

We had a nice family dinner away from this room—we walked downstairs and Grier rode in the wagon for the first time- I got the OK today to take a walk outside—so if it warms up you may see me on the greenway pulling Grier’s wagon—

I cannot believe how long we have been here—it is like time has stood still for us –

Thanks for all the prayers and words of encouragement- Please continue to pray that the discomfort Grier is having will go away-

Happy Easter everyone-
Amy and family

Oh happy day when Grier got his first wagon ride! So glad to hear that Grace and Hayes are so helpful and wonderful with Grier. You guys deserve medals for your steadfast duty at CMC -- ETES Family of the Year Award is already yours!! Still praying constantly for Grier and another miracle from God!

Happy Easter Christenburys!

Our Blanton family and your Covenant family were all with you in Spirit today. I know you felt the love from around the corner all the way to CMC.

OK Amy, I know you will 'get this' and some folks reading this may think I am a nut by now, yet I had to share this with you!

I know you and Jeff love Jim Lowry as much as we do~ and I wish you could have seen him today! His words just echo within me all day! By the end of the sermon he had us all pretend paint (yes...) the word RESURRECTION on a pretend sign in front of us in our pews. (really) Charles and I were doing as we were told, but you should have seen some of the 'more conservative' folks looking at him funny! :) Anyway, his point was reminding us of His Resurrection and to put it over a special doorway to remind us of His salvation for us, His love and especially His HOPE. Jim said he would place a sign over his children's doors, his home, etc...and challenged us all and asked where we would place our signs! Of course the Southern Baptist in me wanted to stand up and shout that I was running to Grier's room to place it over his door.

I hope you are smiling by now...and understanding what I am saying. Sending you love and hope on Easter. Praying for warmer days for Grier to enjoy outside~ I know the fresh air, trees, and wind will be some of the best medicine for him!

Love,
Hannah, Charles, Virginia, Charles and Brown

Psalm 62: 5,6
Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;my HOPE come from him. He is my rock and my salvation;he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

Great job big brother, for getting Grier to play ball!I'm sure Hayes is glad to help, and thats the best way, a little bit of normal life. Amy, I'm so glad you had a chance to spend a little time with Grace. Jeff, I know its tough to keep up these routines right now, its greatfor the whole family that you are making the time to. As always, you are all in my thoughts today.

AMY!!! It has taken me a week to figure out the simple account set-up to communicate on this blog! I am not very sophisticated...

Now that I am in, what I want to say is...
You are such a special person, truly a magnet of warmth, intelligence, and intense humor.
You probably have no idea how many lives you and your family have touched. Each of those people is pulling for gorgeous Grier.

I know that you are spreading your own brand of sunshine in that hospital, even in the midst of this overwhelming and frightening unknown. God has blessed Grier with an amazing mother and the love of a wonderful and devoted family!

I pray for your continued strength and send lots of love from our home.

Dear Amy and Jeff,

I echo Hannah's sentiments from Jim's sermon this morning. The FIRST place I thought about hanging my sign was at CMC over Grier's door! I'm so glad Hannah told the story because she conveyed it much more eloquently than I could have!

I was so happy to read about Grier's wagon ride - the maiden voyage of many, many more wagon rides to come.

I'm sorry we missed the Children's service yesterday and a chance to see Jeff, Hayes and Grace. I, too, heard all about Ms. Pat and her precious little lamb. She is amazing, isn't she?

We all want you to know you were in our hearts and on our minds this Easter day and we could not help but renew our faith and hope in miracles as we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ together as a community of faith in the sanctuary and again with the children at Sunday School. We love you!

Go, Grier, Go!!!! Love,

Nancy, Ralph, Lucy, MK and Sally

Amy, Stephanie Gillespie here from Philadelphia. Amy Jarrett let me know about Grier. Just wanted you to know more prayers for you ALL coming from our family. I know to well the walls of a hospital room and time stopping. God will give you the continued strength that you need. We pray that Grier has a good day with smiles, playing, some food and hopefully another wagon ride. Hopefully you will get to go home soon. Please just know that you have all touched so many of us and the power of all our prayers is going to you all.

Hi Christenbury family--I do not know you, but I have heard about little Grier through one of your family friends that I go to church with. I want you to know that I am lifting Grier (as well as the rest of your family) up in prayer every day. I will keep praying for God to completely heal him. NOTHING is impossible for God, and I hope that others who are reading this will not forget that when they pray for Grier. I hope you will find encouragement in knowing that you have lots of people praying for you and your family that you don't even know about. May God bless you all.
