Thursday started early with a visit from Dr. Jaime and Herb—Grier had not slept well the night before so he was still sleeping and I was right there beside him! After 9 it really picks up in the room—lots of people that need to check him start coming in one after the other—and trust me there are so many different nurses, docs, social workers etc. The PT came back to make him get up again—and that went as expected. He was mad -- She seems to think when we get home he will get out the “sick role”—and then start trying new things like walking again-
Friends came for lunch Thursday—we all dined in the cafeteria—it was fun—they brought the bracelets that they ordered and left some with me and then delivered to Pat, and others—They came up with a great idea—Thanks for doing that- Lots of people are already wearing them—The Jesus doll has one on too! Grier gave some to his doctors and nurses—he tells them it says “Go “Geer” Go!
Grier got a fever late in the afternoon just about the time the oncologist came in and was talking about going home on Friday—so we need to stay fever free to go home-- He also said we might have to get a blood transfusion and platelets before we leave- I am starting to think it may not be Friday—
Jeff came up around 6:30 and stayed with Grier and my mom and I got to go watch Steel Fab-“ulous” play baseball—it was a great game and they WON!!! The kids wrote Go Grier Go inside their hats—They had a picture of a hat and I brought it to Grier after the game-
Thursday night was another rough night—Grier seems to be in pain again—so he wakes up a lot—I have begun to dread the nights—mainly because of the night nurses—there is at least one I like but the rest make the nights rough—I look forward to 7am every morning!

Keep up your enthusiam! Home seems so distant but once there things will fall into place. Thinking of you so often.
All my prayers,
Fielding
You are an awesome family! I am so glad Grier is hanging in there! Even though you don't know me, you are often in my thoughts and prayers!
Amy and Jeff,
Keep the faith! It is so nice of you to keep us updated on your journey with Grier's illness, so that we can pray for specific things for you both and Grier. We will pray for Grier's temp to break, for the nurses to be compassionate and helpful at night, and for your family to get home for Round 2 soon. The thoughts and prayers of our church drift your way all through the day and night - I think you must be getting 24/7 coverage :)! With you in spirit, Robin Goodson
Hey Grier. You don't know me but my name is Miss Brenda. I work at the Harris Teeter/Cotswold and have known your Mimi for several years. She is a very special lady,to me, and I feel like I know you, because she has talked about you for a long time. I want you to know that I say a prayer for you and your family every night and hope that you will soon feel much better and be able to go home.
May you feel God's arms around you.

"Go Grier Go" is in Greensboro!
The Christenbury family has been in my prayers since the beginning. I nanny for a family and I told the two kids about Grier and they ask about him everyday - they are praying for the family as well.
