Dr. L said everything still looked good- and we just needed PT to look at him so we can get him mobile- PT came in around 11:00 and worked with him a few minutes—I will continue to encourage him to stand up so he can regain his strength. She did not think he needed therapy- Watching him try to walk reminded me of his first steps almost 2 years ago-
We had some fun visitors today—and Grier finally started talking to our nurse, Jamie- She has been with us a lot since the beginning. Pat brought him a water gun and he loved shooting people with water today—As soon as Hayes and Grace came in they were squirted with water!
His IV pump beeped almost all day- so we would have to call the nurse and tell them we were “beeping” and they would come in to reset it- By the end of the day, Grier pushed the nurse call button all by himself and would say” I’m beeping”- They finally decided the machine was not working and replaced it-
Thanks for your continued prayers—we are getting closer to going home- Jeff and I are very thankful for everything--- I can not say that enough- We are very grateful to our friends, family and staff at CMC for the encouragement you are giving our family.

So glad Grier had a good day today! His good days make good days for you all! He'll be walking and running soon, I'm sure -- nothing can keep Grier down for long! Love and prayers keep going out to you every day. GO, GRIER, GO!!

Dear Amy and Jeff,
I am so happy to read tonight that Grier had an "uneventful" and relatively smooth day. I had a nice visit with Jeff and Hayes this afternoon at soccer practice. You both are so strong and so amazing. Grier (and Hayes and Grace) is lucky to have you two on his team!
I really wanted to come up for a visit the past couple of days, but we have all been swapping minor sore throats and sniffles, so I think I will wait to make sure we are germ free!
The Bad Bees soccer team are all anxious to help in any way and all of the families pass along their love and best wishes.
My prayer for you all is to feel the love and comfort of all of your many supporters far and wide and for Grier to regain the strength he needs to go home SOON! We love you all and hope to see you soon.
Go, Grier, Go! Go! Go!
Love,
Nancy and Ralph, Lucy, Mary Katherine and Sally
Amy and Jeff -- You can count the Martin/Curry clan amongst the zillions of people who are reading this blog and thinking about Grier and you all nonstop. Thanks for taking the time to keep us all updated. Even though I've never met Grier, I'm falling in love with him through these stories you are telling! Much love from Elizabeth (Martin), Marshall, Jane and Rivers
Dear Amy & Jeff,
My heart is filled with joy this evening knowing that Grier had a good day and seems to be getting his old "Grier smile" back again, as Pat put it! I know you are anxious to change venues and get back home and that will be added to our prayers for you. I am anxious each evening for updates from the Blog.
Adam is back on steroids and everyone has the sniffles in our house...so, we'll keep our distance and blow kisses as we pass CMC at random intervals during each day.
Thinking of Grier constantly and look forward to hearing about your progress toward going home! Thank you so much for keeping us all up-to-date through the Blog as so many are unable to visit...kudos to you Amy for being so diligent...not that I would expect anything less!
Lots of love from our family to yours!

Amy and Jeff,
We are so happy that Grier had a good day yesterday. All of you have been in our thoughts and prayers! Amy, you have been so amazing! How have you found the energy to write the blogs that keep all of us informed of what's going on with Grier's condition. Thank you so much.
Please know that the Quarapella family sends all our love. We hope that all goes well for Grier to be able to go home this week and we will continue to pray for his strength.
Go, Grier, Go!
Beth, Drew, Nick and Michael Quartapella
Grier's class buddies at FPC WDS missed him today as we returned from Easter/Spring break. We had a fun time painting a masterpiece "Go Grier Go" poster and gave a big cheer for how brave he has been! There is a seat saved for you, Grier, at the lunch table! From: his 12 friends and 3 teachers in c101!
It's great news to hear more and more about the "old" Grier peeking through. I'm sure it will be a happy day at your house when he is able to come home. Thinking about you everyday!!
J, K, M, T, & W
Amy,
I am sorry I missed you when I popped in today. I had a great chat with Grier and Maggie...I called Susanne as soon as I left to tell her that Grier smiled at me. Since he doesn't know me I really didn't expect any interaction so my smile was extra special!
I hope y'all are home soon!
Frances Sanford
We think about you all every day...and are looking forward to seeing the whole family at the ballfield very soon.
Sending all of our love and prayers...
GO GRIER GO!
Andrea, Sean and all the rest of the Smiths
Amy and Jeff,
We are thinking of you and praying for you! Thanks for keeping us all updated with the blogs--we hang on every word. We love seeing Grier's sweet photos there, too. What a joy to hear that he had a good day. Aubrey, Henry, Parker, and I are so eager to see Grier peeping out the backseat car window in the carpool line! We are praying for his renewed strength and for you all to be back home soon. Our love to all of you--Susan, John, Aubrey, Henry, and Parker
