Today was a tough day for Grier—they think he has mouth sores and is in a lot of pain so he has not eaten or had anything to drink for two days- He is not talking and looks like he feels bad—he had a reaction to an antibiotic and his hair is coming out—So with that said it was not the best of days- I was reminded by someone that being 2 is hard enough and adding cancer to that is even harder!
I was able to see Grace and the bad bees play soccer which made my day!! Jeff and the kids hung out and had movie night—And a friend showed up with a veggie sandwich from McAlister’s for dinner—along with a bag of “go grier go” bracelets— We did have a few nice visits from family and friends (and a few nurses who hung out in our room) today—it does seem to make the time pass quickly--
I am really trying to find something great to say about today but right now I can not think of anything except I am glad I am CMC today instead of my house, so they can care for him the best they know how-
Thanks to everyone praying for Grier-- we are lucky to have a great support group-

Amy and Jeff,
I am sorry to hear that Grier wasn't comfortable today, I'm sure that is very hard on all of you. It sounds like you are in very good hands at CMC. I hope that Grier is able to get some rest tonight.
thinking of you all,
Erin
Amy & Jeff,
I am so sorry to read that Grier is in pain and not feeling well. Have they tried that Magic Mouthwash with him? He maybe too young, but I know in adult cancer patients that is used alot for the mouth sores. I hope today will be better for you and maybe he will be up to eating some jello or something... Sorry to hear you guys were not able to stay home, but like you said, it is better for the nurses to pull out all their tricks there to help him. We would love to get some braclets- I will call Mary. I will not take it off until you tell us he is WELL and CANCER FREE!! GO GRIER GO!!! Praying for all of you,
Jeff, Jennifer, Nolan, & Cole
Amy,
I am wearing my bracelet today and trying to not have a heavy heart. I know you would love to be in your own home, but I am lifted by the thought of the good care Grier is receiving there at CMC.
Keep your strength and your faith!
Frances

Amy,
I am so sad to hear that Grier has mouth sores...does he really have to undertake any more? I know it's important to have a positivie attitude; but, I am angry and sad and I am so sorry that I can't make the hurt go away for all of you. Please know that you are in my thoughts nonstop as I continue to check the Blog several times daily. I look for comfort as well in the messages that others are sending your way.
My prayer today will be for healing for Grier that he might have relief from the sores and find a happier day tomorrow! My wristband is giving me comfort as well that so many people are banding together in unity to face this challenge with Grier, you and Jeff.
Praying for better tomorrows!
Love and Prayers...

Dear Amy, I think, at this moment, you are the strongest woman I know. Grier is so lucky to have all of you as you are to have him. Hang in there. A million hugs to all of you. Susan Shanus
Amy,
Jim Lowry's sermon this morning had a meaningful quote that I copied down for you -- "Before good news is very good, it must be bad." You've had the bad and you can expect the very good to be coming soon! So sorry to hear of Grier's sad day yesterday; however things can only look up from such a bad day -- keep the faith and things will get better. I hurt for Grier but looking at my bracelet reminds me of the hope, faith, and love each person who wears one has for him and your family and I feel better! Continued love and prayers are coming down the greenway from Cumberland Ave to CMC!

Dear Amy and Jeff and Janet,
What wonderful support you have from the Covenant family! And, how strong and faithful you are being! I hurt for you and for your children. I can imagine little else that would be harder than your journey now. Consider this: You can also find God within you. And from that you will find courage to go on. I read this blog every day with the hope that soon Grier will be getting better. Know that so many people love you all and are praying for Grier's recovery. My love to Hayes and Grace. It must be terribly difficult for them, too. Louise Singleton
Dear Amy Jeff and kids, The Caldwells have been keeping us updated and I just read your web site for the first time. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help. The Barkleys (Andrea, John, James and Amanda)
Hi sweet freinds, sorry about the rough days, praying things will go better the next couple of days. Let us know when and if Grier can have visitors, Campbell would love to come by and see if Grier would sing for him. Apparently, that was quite entertaining when you had lunch at school one day. Thinking and praying for you every day. The Stacks
