I am headed to bed and have not packed a thing!!! Does that surprise anyone??? I have been running around all day trying to make sure we had some Fall clothes--
Grier's IV meds end in 45 minutes... !! That is the last dose for this round!! Can you tell I am excited to get some uninterrupted sleep?

He has done really well today-- playing baseball outside every second he could-- Same comments from people that walk by-- He sure doesn't look/act sick! He is starting to tell people he is going on a "jet"-- that is a little better than telling people he was going on a flyboat!! If you do not watch The Wonder Pets you will not understand!

They finally had the ribbon cutting today at LCH!! We sure are going to miss some of the nurses on 7T-- and Kristen from ChildLife! And we will miss Susan in recovery-- I can not wait to see the 11th floor of the new hospital when we get back--

On a side note-- Another diagnoses of this rare cancer happened recently to a little girl from Charlotte-- She and Grier are about the same age-- I met her mom at the hospital last week. They were going through the first round of chemo-- She and I talked for awhile and she read the blog-- We are praying for Isabella to beat this so I hope you do too-- Here is her site-- www.caringbridge.com-- isabellasantos

Have fun tomorrow and we will be waving to everyone at Freedom Park from the "flyboat"!!!!

Amy

Godspeed tomorrow -- you will be in our thoughts and prayers as we gather in Grier's honor at FP. Lots of love will be flying with you! What an adorable b/w photo on your blog! So happy that he was so cheerful yesterday at clinic and had a great day today --it was the perfect day for baseball in the front yard -- sorry I didn't walk by!

Love to you all,

Good Morning, Amy! Uhhh, no, it doesn't surprise me that you haven't packed a thing. After all, you need something to do today! I just finished reading the article on Grier in the paper this morning (Mecklenburg Neighbors, page 8M) and the headline was perfect!

Yesterday was a glorious day to play baseball in the front yard and I'm so glad Grier took full advantage of it - he deserves it!

As you well know, we will all be thinking about you guys today, as we do everyday, and ALL of your supporters hope you feel our love and prayers as you travel to NYC. If there are any "corporate guys" on the jet with you today, I know Grier will have them wrapped around their little fingers before you even take off. Do your thing, Grier!

Good luck navigating "the city" and don't do too much damage on Fifth Avenue! We love you all and we hope for safe travels, comfortable accommodations, speedy hospital procedures and positive news!

Hugs to all, The Falls Family

Just read the artical in the paper. It was wonderful. That picture is great,I think it captures a little of Jeff and a little of you. The little devilish look is definitely you. (just kidding)
Have a safe trip today. Just think happy thoughts and remember all the people below you who are praying and sending positives thoughts to the Dr. at MSK.
As always you will be in our hearts and prayers. We will add Isabella to our list.
Love,

Amy-
Yet another sign that our family lives on the outskirts of the real CHarlotte, Grier's story was not in our paper! But I quickly found it online and loved it!! We will be thinking about you all day today, especially at 6:00 pm. I will miss our weekly lunches while you are gone, but are so glad for the reason I will miss it.
Oh-I will have you know that Mr. Jack is now going on the potty-I told him he wouldn't be able to wear his "tennis shoes" anymore, and he hasn't gotten off the potty since!
Have a great flight.
P.S. Did Jeff like our shopping?

Amy & Jeff,

We'll wave to your "flyboat" as you fly overhead praying for safe travels, speedy testing and positive news from the doctors! One great thing about flying on the jet is that you don't have to worry about security checks, 4 oz. craziness, and shoe removal...what a blessing. So glad Grier enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors...sounds like he's back to the "jumping" Grier I witnessed a few weeks ago..FANTASTIC!!

Looking forward to hearing more from you and stories of your travels...boy, are these folks in for a treat when they meet your family! Grier is going to "WOW" them! Be well, get some sleep and know our love is with you.

Love & Prayers...
Dina

Dear Amy and Jeff,

The Baddaddies are gearing up for a big show. Sounds like a huge crowd is coming and God provided a perfect day for it. "This little light" of ours will be shining bright from Freedom Park. Our prayers are with you all as you embark on this journey.

Love,

Anne W.

Did you hear us? I think all of Charlotte was yelling Go Grier Go. What a wonderful day. What wounderful friends you have that put it all together. We missed you and Jeff and Grier but Grace and Hayes looked like they had fun. There was so much love and high hopes at that park, it could have carried you all to N.Y.
I had to laugh when I saw Grace's clogs. You always used to tell me if you ever had a little girl you would dress her just like Elizabeth.
You are in our hearts so much tonight. Go Grier Go and remember how much everone is praying.
Love to you,
The Paine's

What a wonderful day in the park in honor of Grier! His spirit was so strong there today - it was truly amazing! We half expected to see him running with the boys (Hayes included) who threw the footballs and frisbees all afternoon. Or on stage with the girls who danced with the band! All our thoughts and prayers are with you guys this week, and the doctors and nurses who will be taking care of Grier. Keep your sense of humor, Amy - it has been truly inspiring for those of us reading your story. Go Grier Go!!

Dear Amy, Jeff and Grier,

Imagine a park full of people-babies, middle school youth, children, parents, grandparents, cousins, friends, friends of friends, and their friends, all shouting "GO GRIER GO" !! Full of hope, admist blue and green balloons and signs, sno-cones and footballs, popcorn and prayers, picnics and smiles, bikes and scooters, many people were there to celebrate GRIER and all of the Christenburys, to honor the brave family they knew or had heard about, to encourage each of you, and to show God's love, and their own, to you.
We are all praying for skillful and wise doctors (and other medical professionals), for nights of rest for each of you, for hope and encouragement, for comfort and for peace and for clarity when decisions need to be made. We are all holding your family close to our hearts, and trust you are always in the loving hands and heart of our Lord.

Love to you, each one. May God bless you.

Amy,

It was truly a beautiful day! Smiles were everywhere with thoughts of you, Jeff & Grier headed to New York in the "flyboat!" Mitch couldn't have been any louder when he screamed, "Go Grier Go!" with Mary Ellen...his face was red and his body shaking with excitement. We were all hopeful you could hear us overhead.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you get settled in the Big Apple, the city that never rests...let's hope that doesn't hold true while you're there! Hopeful that your doctors, nurses and caregivers are thoughtful, compassionate and forthcoming with useful, helpful and needed information.

Lots of love from home...
Dina

Amy, Jeff and Grier,

So glad you trip went smoothly. The range of emotions you felt is echoed by all of us here.
So glad you had a friend to take you into the city.
Loved the article about Grier, it captured his endearing personality and the wonderful suppport that you have in Charlotte. I received some photos of the picnic yesterday via Davidson and their connection to Covenant. The circle of friends is constantly growing.
Our love and prayers surround you in the big city. I bet Grier will get lots of those unfriendly New Yorkers to smile!
Love,
Gina
