We left RMDH around 10 and set out for a quick breakfast--- found an Amish Bakery-- scones, muffins etc.-- perfect to walk with as we headed to FAO Schwarz--We are on 73rd street in betwen 1st and York-- we were headed to 5th and 60th??? We made it!! Passing central park-- looked at the zoo from the street and many other things-- then decided we woud walk to times square--- that is 42nd street and ??? For all of you that do not know-- it was a long walk-- we made it back to the RMDH by 4- and we saw MSKCC on the way-
Grier added another stuffed animal to his collection-- an elephant-- ! I could not talk him into the Ferris Wheel at Toys R Us-- and he slept thru the visit to Dylan's Candy Bar!
We just got back from a quick dinner around the corner-- and now we are going to settle down for the night-- I hope it is better than last night-- Jeff and I did not sleep well--! Grier is on a pull-out and Jeff and I each have a twin!
We begin our day tomorrow at 10-- at MSKCC-- not with the doctor but the finance office!! :) After we meet with them we will get to see the Doctor! (not the surgeon) Too bad that is not reversed--!
The news just said rain in the forecast for tomorrow-- so it looks like we will get our first taste of walking in the rain!!
Thanks for all the emails-- and photos from yesterday! It really looked fun!
We are missing home but knowing we get a visit this weekend will make it easier--
Wish us luck tomorrow in the day hospital-- I hope he does as well as he does with Dr.Longee and Dawn and everyone else at clinic!!! We told him today that we were going to visit Dr.Longee's friend-- he seemed fine with it but we will see when we actually arrive how it will go!

I am happy to hear you had a good day. I know where all those places are and I sort of miss being up there when you talk about it. Make sure you eat a hot dog from a cart and a hot pretzel. Also go to Magnolia's,they have the best cupcakes. I am sure Grace would love it.
You will be in our prayers tomorrow. I just spoke with my sister in law and she had her sister in Ct. praying with the nuns that she visits on Tuesday. All we Catholics are connected somehow. She also told me when you get back you need to go to the 7th floor at Levine. They have a room named for them and she has a good feeling about it.
You are in our hearts and prayers as always.

Wow! Y’all really did do A LOT of walking!!! I bet Grier loved the toy stores! The elephant sounds adorable. When we were there Sara Kathryn wouldn’t get on the Ferris wheel either and that was just last year!!! (The big dinosaur freaked her out too!)
I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight and that tomorrow goes well. Thanks for the update:).

Hi:
We got back from Montreat and headed for Freedom Park. WOW. There must have been 300 people, kids, dogs and good music. These were people who love you and have all of you in their prayers. We look forward to your blogs every day and will be eager to hear how tomorrow goes. We love you lots and will keep up with Maggie, Gracie and Hayes. Take care of each other.

WOW!! You probably walked further on the streets of NYC than we did for the Hopebuilders Walk. Sounds like a fun day outside before heading inside for the day tomorrow. My prayers are with you that all goes well -- Grier will charm those docs and nurses as he has everywhere he has been! Thanks ever so much for the blog -- we are all so grateful for your updates. Hope you have a restful night -- sleep tight!
Love, hugs, and prayers to Amy, Jeff and Grier in the Big Apple and to Maggie, Hayes, and Grace at home!

Amy & Jeff,
Glad to know you enjoyed your first day in New York City! Sorry to hear about your sleepless night last night; however, I'm guessing with all of the walking and fresh air...did I just say that?...you will surely sleep better?:|
Mitch had his party today and in my heart I thought of our sweet friend Grier and hoping his first visit to the city was a good one. I'm sure with my chatty 4-year old you can imagine him inviting his teachers to his party. However, can you imagine that 2 of his 3 teachers actually came? Those FPWDS folks don't fool around...I am telling you. Mrs. Paine and Mrs. Boyce both came for the entire time and helped with the children just as if they were at school...unbelievable! You sure steered me in the right direction, Amy! Many thanks!
Enjoy the quiet night with no alarms and maybe head to the drugstore for some sleep aids tomorrow morning...or possibly get a bottle or two of wine for your room!
Thinking of you tomorrow as you visit the finance dept...no fun:| Don't forget our previous talks...they may be a bit wiser in NYC, however. Hope everything goes well with the new doctor and that Grier takes a liking to him/her.
Love & Prayers...
Dina
Amy,
So happy you had great day. You guys sound like pros! That was some amazing amount of walking. I hope everything goes well today and that you and Jeff got some sleep last nignt. Everything seems a little easier to handle when you have had some shut eye. Let me know if I can help. We continue to pray for you all. Those sweet pictures of Grier just make you smile!!!
Much love,

We will be thinking of you, Jeff and Grier today and hope your walk in the rain isn't so bad and the doctor's and staff see Grier at his finest and he gives them all something to laugh about!!
Netha and all
Thinking about you all up there in NYC! I hope the testing is easy on Grier and that you like the doctors you meet with. Hope you got some rest last night.
Take care,
Stacy Sparks
Amy and Jeff-
You all are especially in our thoughts today. Fingers crossed that you had a better nights sleep and that today is a good day.

I am thinking of you and hoping all is well. I hope all of your meetings and appointments go well today. Know that I am thinking of you.
Lesley
Thanks for sharing all the info about your day. I can daydream of seeing those places in NY and hearing Grier's silly comments! He brigthens my day everytime I am around him and hear all his stories.
The ferris wheel-maybe Grace and Hayes can talk him into riding it when they come-something else to add to their Super Sibs status.
Can't wait to hear more details and to have dinner with you when you get home!
Trisha
