Here is a quick update-- Grier's chemo went well yesterday-- It was a quick trip to the clinic-- He watched TV.. ate a little breakfast and talked to the nurses about what he wanted for Christmas-- And before we knew it we were done!!! He wanted to go to the "NEW" target so we got permission to do that after clinic-- it was a quick trip! He actually wanted to walk around but ended up falling so he was done shopping!
Today we were busy trying to find the meds he needed for the Sub-Q shot!! After that was done I had my first lesson in giving a shot-- Sorry Carol :)-- I gave our nurse a shot and then I gave one to Grier-- Well, the worst part was cleaning him off with alcohol--- the shot was nothing to him-- He has a high pain tolerance .. but that was not at all what I expected-
The latest is the rash that has appeared!! We are watching it and changed his bandage early in case it was the tegaderm.. He is very itchy!! So, we are trying benedryl too-- Who knows what this could be-- I hope it is gone when we wake up-- Other than medical visits.. Grier and I have been busy doing carpool-- and hanging around the house! Hayes and Grace have been busy with their basketball teams and school work-- Both Hayes and Grace got all A's this grading period!!! Way to Go.. SuperSibs!

I am so impressed by the supersibs. I cannot wait until we are hearing about Grier and all his A's.
Sorry about the rash ,praying for it to be gone in the morning. I am also sorry about the whole shot thing. I am sure you are very good at it. It takes a kind person and we know for sure you have that.
Well we are thinking of you always. You are always in our hearts and prayers.
Love,
The Paine's
Well Done Hayes & Grace!!
I sure hope the mysterious rash is gone by morning also...not to mention, the itching. Rashes are awful and hard to medicate without what seems 3 different creams.
Shots are the pits; however, you seem to be a pretty quick study in the field of medicine and I am very confident that you're better at shots than most of the staff at CMC/LCH :) I am definitely available if you ever find that you need help...one day you may wake up and think that you just can't do it that day...call me.
Looking forward to hearing more about Grier gaining weight and strength. Donuts can seriously help this cause. Also, Mitch loves yogurt raisins and they are full of calories. He's been eating them like crazy...try them on Grier. Mitch is now officially a 28-pounder. Our family joked this year that our turkey (30#) wieghed more than Mitch...again. We're looking forward to the Thanksgiving when Mitch outweighs the bird!
I'm sorry your Target visit was cut short by Grier's fall...I can empathize with that for sure. We still have falls that consume our daily lives. Mitch is on his fourth pair of lenses for his glasses since April...and he's had these for about a month now. CRAZY!
I'm so glad you're home and hopeful you'll be able to enjoy the weekend preparing for the holiday season with your family. We're approaching full Christmas mode here in our house now that it's officially December. Mitch wanted to see Santa before Thanksgiving and I just would not allow it. I'm seriously protesting the Merry Hallowmas campaign altogether. I'll hop off my high horse and wish you a pleasant weekend.
Tons of love to you all...prayers too!

Way to go, Hayes and Grace!! Such smart kids -- nothing can keep them down!! Kudos to you and Jeff for continuing to give your SUPERSIBS the extraordinary love and support while doing all that you do for Grier. And to think the SUPERSIBS did most of that 6-weeks work while you and Jeff were in NYC. Kudos to Maggie too!!!
Glad to hear the clinic visit went smoothly and quickly! Sorry to hear about the Target trip being cut short and the rash mysteriously appearing. With all the meds going into his body, it's no wonder that strange things happen -- hopefully it is gone this morning and you can get on to a great weekend!
Love and prayers to you this morning,
Betty G
Rashes and shots .... yucky!! Grier, you are so brave... and officially one of my heroes --- you too, Amy. Congrats to Hayes and Grace on their super report cards. They never cease to amaze and delight me when they are in the lab each week. Hope that Grier is feeling tons better the next time we hear from you.
You are always in heart and prayers.
Mrs. D.
Hope you are all having a great weekend together! Hope Grier is feeling well today.
Thinking of you with love...
Dina
