Home has been nice-- but re-entry is a little tough! Lots of mail to go through-- pay bills that need to be paid since we were gone longer than expected and just papers everywhere to look at and purge! Hayes did not feel well today so he stayed home with Grier and I-- and it was a pretty slow day of doing some chores!
The other news of the day is that we will not get to see the doctor we really like anymore at the clinic-- He is gone! Dr. Longee was great with all of us-- and we will miss him! Can not believe three weeks can change so much at the clinic! Tomorrow we will go to clinic and see Dr. McMahon- he will check Grier's counts and make sure we are good to start chemo on Saturday--
Thanks to everyone that helped so much while we were gone.. especially, Jeff's parents, Susan Shimp, Leah and David, and last but not least my mom for putting her life on hold for a few weeks! We also want to thank everyone for the blog messages, cards, packages etc. and visit while we were in NEW YORK--!! And to Wachovia for the flight yesterday-- and to our NY friends... for rides, dinner, info, gifts, emails, and keeping our sheets in the city for the next visit-- I know I have forgotten something or someone-- SO THANKS TO EVERYONE!

So glad you are home and getting back in sync with Charlotte. Hope Grier's counts are good tomorrow so that chemo can start and end quickly. So happy that you will be together for Thanksgiving -- we all have much to be thankful for this year!
I am thankful for all your blogs, Amy, which has kept us all so well informed about Grier's progress.
I am thankful for your family and friends who care so much about all of you and helped you in so many ways.
I am thankful that Grier's surgery and recovery at MSK went so well.
I am thankful that you and Jeff are the strong, wonderful parents that you are.
I am thankful that Grace and Hayes are such great SUPERSIBS!
I am thankful that Maggie could put her life on hold for those weeks and has been there every minute for you all.
I am thankful for the thousands of prayers that God heard for Grier.
I am thankful to be a friend of the Christenbury family! Go Christenburys Go!
Love and prayers for you tonight and tomorrow at clinic.

So glad to hear you are home safe and sound. We missed you all and know you are happy to back. I can't imagine the paperwork and other things you have returned to. If there is anything that can be done to help you with everything please let us know. I am sorry to hear your Dr. is no longer at the clinic - hoping you all find someone just as great to work with in the future. I am sure all of the nurses can't wait to see Grier's charming smile.
Hoping this Thanksgiving holiday you all can have some much needed quiet time as a family and time to be together. You all are an inspiration to us all and have been so kind to allow all of us to go on this journey with you.
As a side story I was at St.Pat's yesterday and a police officer was there to talk to Shields' class. He mentioned that he grew up with Kimberly Wagner and he I asked if he knew you and he said of course and laughed. Office Cantrell was his name i think. It reminded me how between you and Jeff you know just about everyone in town.
Looking forward to seeing some of you at the soccer field for one last match.
Lots of love
Daphne, Killian, Carter, Shields and Mac
So sad to hear Hayes is not feeling well. Maybe he just needed a day with mom and Grier. I am sure you are overwhelmed by everything but try to remember to take it slow and take care of each other. Bills will be paid and papers will be gone thru. I am really good at throwing things out if you need me.
Try to rest. I am so sorry about the Dr. change but I am certain the Christenbury's will charm their way into this new Dr's heart very quickly.
Get some sleep and remember you are in our hearts and prayers always.
Love,
The Paine's
Amy,
Glad today was a slow one...you needed the slower re-entry. Mitch talked about Grier all day and is very much looking forward to giving Mrs. Paine her treats!
Not-so-great on the doctor front; however, you have got the bulk of treatment behind you and had the fabulous Dr. Longee for a better part of that time. I'm sure it would be a lot better for Grier in particular if he were still with you. However, as Mary Ellen said, Grier and family WILL charm a new doctor, no problem!
As an aside, Mitch and my terrific Thursday sitter, Ms. Cheryl, made a "Thankful Tree." On it, one of Mitch's items read, "I am thankful for my friend Grier!" He thinks the world of Grier, albeit with a sprinkle of impatience, and loves his dear friend...as we all do :) We are all indeed thankful for your friendship :)
Sweet dreams to you all...hopeful that everyone will be feeling a bit better tomorrow and that you will be that much closer to getting your daily chores back in order.
Lots of Love & Prayers...
Dina
